Chinese animation (donghua)

Post by unoduetre » 26 Nov 2018, 18:20

The Chinese animation keeps improving. Some shows are very similar to anime in it's art style. There are some good titles around.

Do you watch it?

Here is a huge list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_C ... ted_series
And here is another: https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/tags ... -animation

I admit I haven't seen almost anything from these lists, besides some titles e.g. Bloodivores, Hitori no Shita: The Outcast
The Outcast was quite enjoyable.

Do you have any recommendations?

Didn't you say the Outcast was ok but not great?

I dropped it because I agreed with that.

Yeah, it was ok, but not great. That's exactly what I think. The word "quite" is a weird word in English. Maybe I used it in a wrong way. What I wanted to say is that I enjoyed it but I wasn't amazed by it. "fairy enjoyable" might be better.

Hmmm. In american english at least, I feel like 'quite' always means 'very' or 'completely'.

Yeah. It seems it's a difference between the British and the American English.

It seems it can cause misunderstandings: https://languagesandmore.com/blog/quite ... s-english/
