Greeting Anime fans. I'm not one for journals really, but I feel the need
(the need for speed!)
Ahem...
Currently I'm a 47 year old child, I'm an electrician, technician, tester - of installations and peoples nerves - CCTV, Data, Alarm, fire alarms, Door entry systems. Petrol stations... My work fills my life, but as the OH says, I should work to live, not live to work.

i do feel a bit of a fraud on here sometimes if truth be told, Anime was not a strong suit of mine, in the 80's Channel 4 shown a series of films. Akira. That blew my mind. then the Studio Ghibli series, that enthralled, entertained, destroyed me in equal measures.
But after I got with my OH ,her daughter is a huge Anime fan and has somehow drawn me into the world, currently if anything skirting the edge, but slowly being sucked into it. Then my youngest reveals she's a massive Anime fan....
Go with the flow of electrons as it were.

Woohoo!!! First reply!

Up until this year, I hadn't watched anime for like five years. Maybe longer. So I watched for 3, didn't for 6, watching going on 1 now.

That should=10 lol

Welcome to journals btw

Thank you!
I do intend to drop in on a regular basis, I had intended to put something in on the next day, but life happened!
It's currently daddy daughter week, the last one of the 6 weeks holiday.
Skating of Saturday just gone, where I asked the owner a bizarre question about Halloween. Short version here, there's going to be a flock of Dinosaurs on the skating rink....
Saturday night was party night and family BBQ, many sore heads on the Sunday.
Took the girls to Kingsway retail park, where some lady let her handbrake off and crashed the front of my XF. I need to inform my insurance company still...

I think it's a recipe for chaos fun and an inevitable disaster! Video to follow!

The last week of the school holidays, my girl goes to secondary school this term, my little baby growing up, and looking like her 'mother'. A time for upheaval.
I look at the scar on my elbow where the last 3 months of my life have been concentrating on. And I dodged a major bullet. It is weird. 47 years old I have had 3 moles forming a brown tri-factor, a kin to the Predators tri-dot sighting, I've seen them everyday, all my life. Like 'The Pleiades' birthmark I have on the inside of my knee. There's now 1 mole. That in my annoyance I've scratched the top off, and now it's bleeding like a bitch.

Remember. Wear Sunscreen. Check yourself regularly.

Plot -

  Spoiler:
Okay, here’s my attempt at a plot outline and a movie poster for the next Jurassic Park movie with roller skating dinosaurs.

Plot outline:

Jurassic Park: Rollersaurus Rex

After the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the surviving dinosaurs have been relocated to a remote island where they are monitored by a team of scientists and conservationists. However, a rogue group of poachers led by a former Jurassic World employee infiltrates the island and captures some of the dinosaurs, including a young T-rex named Rexy.

The poachers plan to sell the dinosaurs to a wealthy collector who has a twisted fascination with roller skating. He intends to use genetic engineering and cybernetics to modify the dinosaurs and equip them with roller skates, turning them into his personal amusement park attractions.

Meanwhile, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing are contacted by an old friend who works on the island and informs them of the poachers’ scheme. They decide to team up with a group of roller derby enthusiasts who happen to be visiting the island for a tournament. Together, they embark on a daring rescue mission to save the dinosaurs and stop the collector’s mad plan.

Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and dangers, such as velociraptors on inline skates, triceratops on quad skates, and pteranodons on hoverboards. They also discover that Rexy has escaped from her captors and is roaming free on the island, wreaking havoc on everything in her path.

Will Owen and Claire be able to save the dinosaurs and prevent the collector from creating his twisted roller skating paradise? Or will they become prey for the rollersaurus rex?

This pic is a dead link.

So the weekend flew by, along with 3 days of working as far south as I can drive without my knee exploding.
I'm back in sunny Derbyshire.
The weekend consisted of skating, walking and being introduced to some "cartoons" by the step daughter - See recently watched for details.

So I had an excited 15 year old sat next to me bounding about who our favourites were and how awesome the Cosplay would be, given how unique the shows are, the costumes available online are very few, questionable and extortionate in price.

"I know!" she says "we can make our own!"
Who do you want to be I ask. Husk she replies.
Oh Fu@# I thought.
And then said.
Then over an hour was spent on what the character looked like and what clothes/fabric/extra materials are required.
And then we started looking at the wings. No she wasn't going to go small. My influence has rubbed off. Go big or go home.
She is building full size articulated wings. She has built a small prototype model, rather excellently out of a Pringles tube and some cardboard.
I'm looking at a full dowel rig coated in foam, with a central pully system that can work its way around the waist. that can be activated when pulled.
