I hope you had a good holiday.b

Thank you.

Well, I managed to get #2 out of bed and into Uni this morning, to get his animation work finished, but it's not looking good for the work he has due in next week. I feel for him, 'cos he really, really doesn't like character design, and the software isn't available for sharing, so he has to go in and sit in an empty room to use the Uni Comps. I've got the feeling this will be his first fail.

If the software for sharing doesn't work, that's on the Uni, although I know from experience that most College IT Depts don't have a great record of having up to date systems, like back when I was at Sheffield College in 1995, they were still running the whole Network on Windows 3.11! Eh?

Even worse, they were using antiquated software such as Wordperfect and DBase 3, pardon?!

No news on my feder yet, other than it might be on a ship somewhere in the Indian Ocean. The good news is that the medieval shirt I ordered for my Vesemir cosplay should arrive tomorrow.

Yeah I won a The Batman 2022 costume on eBay last night, it's coming by next Tuesday and only cost me £30, I've seen similar costumes on other sites for like 5 times the price.

Vesemir cosplay is slowly coming together. Chainmail needs de-greasing and spikes/plating on the vambraces.

Found out at lunchtime that one of my fellow TKD club members was involved in a car accident last night, and unfortunately did not survive his injuries. He was only 14, and his enjoyment and dedication to training was absolute. He had achieved his 2nd Kyu (Red belt) last year, and was making good progress toward is 1st Kyu. I was only going through his Kata with him on Wednesday, and now I will never see him again.

My thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.

We should be in the middle of training right now, but it has been cancelled as a mark of respect. Instead, a couple of members have come round and we are sitting and remembering our times with J. Trying to come to grips with the fact that we won't be seeing him again.

So sad that lad died, he was only 14!

I've taken the plunge and ordered myself a "feder" for Sword training.

Before anybody asks, this is a blunted sword-like item, over a metre long, used to practice techniques and for sparring.

I've been waiting over 3 months for this, and still no sign of it. I've asked for my money back.

I'd have a look on eBay for specialist stuff like that, there's possibly Decathlon at the bottom of the Moor but that's a bit of a long shot.

Ha ha! Not going to get anything like that from Decathlon. Bows and arrows yes, swords no.

BUT got a result after I had e-mailed them. They have offered me a good discount on a superior product, which I have accepted. Hopefully will complete the transaction tomorrow, and get my Feder sometime next week.

A few years back, I bought a plastic one from somewhere for a Zorro cosplay, but I guess you'd have wanted a real one :D
