Sorry to hear, Mel, and it's ridiculous they actually think they can diagnose a broken rib over the phone. It's worse enough when you're feel like not being taken seriously, but when someone's health is involved it's even worse.

But is healthcare over there still that overburdened because of covid? Or is it just set up that poorly then? =/

Bit of both, overworked/underpaid Doctors and Nurses, and jumped up jobsworth receptionists who think they're Doctors.

Thanks for the support guys :)

I believe it may just be that GP in particular maybe, which is really odd because the nurse at the hospital basically apologized to my mum several times and urged my mum to complain and write a formal complaint (she was going to anyway :P), but even when the nurse is saying that something is wrong.

I just find with the NHS as a whole unless you make up a big fuss and basically threaten their job that is only when they take you seriously. To me it just seems they all want an easy job, and covid is done now so they can't really use that as an excuse anymore.

I'll be going down to my parents for the week anyway tomorrow to check on him. He's still in the hospital and his heart rate is still over 100 which is odd.

With respect Mel, contrary to what the government says, Covid is NOT done, not by a very long chalk, people are still getting and dying from it, even though most people have had at least 2 jabs.

I'm pretty glad I've got real good doctors that are pretty thorough, but years ago I was on different insurance and bounced around pretty much why my asthma got worse because they didnt take the time to do extra tests that lung doctors do. Just give you asthma medication not knowing it wasn't what they should have put me on correctly. So yeah I know how you feel. There's a breakage in the health care as a whole.

I hope he gets better Mel :)

Covids still rapid here, but we're seeingvmore influenza now it's supposed to be a bad year. Flu here is fall/winter but it's been on the low since most just got covid. Either way this stuff still sucks.
