Is it Alcon or ALCon, that's the question? I always have felt that Alcon was never a true representation of AL as a whole. I mean, all of us pronounce Animeleague for short as A-L, not Al. Perhaps as we bring our 16+ event back post-covid we need a fundamental rename and a fundamental change of city as well. AnimeleagueCon or ALCon for 2023 would be good in a city closer to home than Leicester (which never was any of our homes except for a small few to begin with)?

For me, AL-Con creates a link with the past, but also presents more connection with the organisation, but it doesn't mean much to the uninitiated. Maybe the AnimeLeague Cosplay Con if you want to differentiate it from the AGC's?
Also, since I don't know where you are all situated I can't comment on a location, but a nice central one with good rail and road links, and some cheap accommodation would be nice. What I enjoyed about my first Alcon was all the panels and guests. How to wear a kimono. Japanese culture. The tea ceremony explained. Caring for your wigs (Still needed judging by some of the comments in Discord). I know my sons friends were disappointed about the poor representation of tabletop gaming at Sheffield, but when a game can take hours to play, I guess it can be difficult.

Since my wife has a "Cats Tongue" (is that what it's called when you don't like hot/spicy things?) we always stick to the same thing. Special Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong style, with Egg Fried Rice to bulk it out. Very occasionally, Beef in Black Bean Sauce.
