What an amazing year this has been for AL! And what an amazing audience and attendees you have all been! I'd like to thank each of every one of you - when we postponed the events, despite us freely offering refunds, less than 5% of you asked for one and instead asked to be transferred to postponed dates. That's simply amazing and goes to show that as an anime community we're all family here - so genuinely thank you all believing in us throughout! Your incredible support has really helped us all to get through this!
So, we've just run our last event of the year, and I'd like to re-itterate what exactly we've all achieved (attendees, guests, staff and exhibitors alike) together this year -
#1. We've run 13 conventions in just four months - a year's worth of events compressed in just one third of the time!
#2. We have been the only anime events in the UK to run this year - we've ensured anime fans have had somewhere to go to during these times.
#3. Every event has been bigger, despite Covid! Courtesy of us having bigger and better venues than before. We took on a massive-massive financial risk doing this, but we had faith people would return, and I thank you all for doing so!
#4. The feedback from our events has been the most positive we've ever seen. I'd say easily over 95% have been extremely happy following each AGC - and this is now being shown in how many of you are already rebooking for next year! So a massive thank you all for being ever so appreciative for our hard work!
#5. Our staff has just grown and grown - in both numbers and experience. We have so many new additions of some really great people which is amazing to see. We also have had a lot of our old time regulars really stepping up and showing what they're made of. Thank you each and every one of you! - you've all been heroes and helped to achieve the near impossible in the middle of a pandemic!
Happy to confirm that we won't be letting this momentum go to waste. We intend to do the following for 2022 -
#1. I can now confirm that London Anime & Gaming Con, our flagship event will be getting on 4,500 sq meters of floorspace for 2022 in both February and August. This is nearly doubling up again on July just gone as we take up both halls of the Novotel London West End along with nearly all of their breakout areas. We have some BIG-BIG plans here, so stay tuned. Surfice to say, our aim is to become the very first *DEDICATED* anime event in the UK to break 10k attendance next year. I have also sorted out new prestige venues, notably including the Glasgow Hilton Hotel - being in a Hilton will, I believe will be a first for anime fans and even comic con and general geek fans alike in this country.
#2. My colleague Stephen Sykes aka Redhat continues to work on coding the AL app. Happy to say that work on this is now very far advanced. We will be looking to officially release version 1.0 on apple as well as android by the New Year. I can't overstate how important this app is - it will bring everything together and make all of your (AL at least) lifes a lot easier!
#3. My other colleague Mel Rowlands aka LikkleMel (whom I know "quite" well ) meanwhile will be aiming to massively boost our guest, sponsorship and corporate presence for 2022 events. This will mean more voice-actors, more big names and generally a better event for all of you next year.
2021 (at least the second half since July!) for AL has been amazing. It's been great to see so many of you and I really do thank you all for supporting us. Here's to 2022!

I am so relieved we managed to get 13 very successful cons done this year. With Omicron looking to be potentially very bad, my fear is that this may be the last set of cons again till next June/July at the earliest.. At least AL is in very good shape now and we could ride it out quite easily (it'd be disappointing and an annoyance for us) - the other event companies... really would be fucked if that were to happen (and most of the hospitality business worldwide as well).
