I had a little turkey, I had a little stuffing, and I had a little yams (real ones). How was your Thanksgiving?

It was ok. Took a turn later on in the day, but mostly it was ok. I think it was anyway.

Furnace broke, got to pick a replacement and get it installed. It's amazing how much they are. Doesn't help I had a reaction to the flu shot or maybe it was just food poisoning.

Talk about some bad luck. Our air conditioner isn't wieking rgat well it's an older model abd putting more free on in an older model is expensive.

Last year they stopped making the kind of freon most of the older AC were using, so they have to salvage it from older units that are being replaced.

Yeah, it's a pinch but fortunately one I can carry. May need to look at financing this summer to replace the AC with something better.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a better one if you do look for one. Hopefully it won't be too expensive though. It seems like absolutely everything's gotten more expensive recently, which really sucked when grocery shopping. >_<

Most of this I blame on greed. Nobody was buying much in gasoline or diesel, so prices were low. Massive layoffs by the oil manufacturers, but despite things returning to normal, they've been very slow to ramp up production, so some have suggested they may be agreeing to keep production low to drive up the prices. Biden's ask the DOJ to look into it.

I'm glad someone's asked one of the investigative branches to look into it. I like Biden so far, it really does seem like he means well. :^_^:

Greed though does seem to be the cause of a lot. Like, if a lot of people get laid off they won't be able to afford much (if anything) so to me it seems like they just kind of shot themselves in the foot by raising prices that high. I mean, granted I don't really have a full understanding of how to manage finances yet, but it doesn't seem very logical. Y'know that saying, "it's darkest just before the dawn"? I'm really of hoping that's true in this case, I don't think we can take too many more years of COVID on the loose, but what a lot of people don't seem to be understanding is it's going to have to be a team effort if we're going to beat this pandemic. I just hope those people that don't seem to get it will realize this before it's too late.

New Year's Door

The birth of a new year
Celebrated beneath my feet.
Glasses clanked and music thumped
Yet somehow I fell asleep.
It was only for a moment,
When a door I've never seen
Creaked open and eyes stared out at me.
"No time! No time!" a tiny grandma cried,
Tottering out from behind the gloom.
"The new year is almost on us," she scolded,
"We got to clear this room!"
Tall and short I dimly saw
As they poured out from that door,
Their tiny hand took my things
Even my smelly socks lying on the floor!
But before I could complain,
Softly gleaming ghosts
Silently took each and every place.
I reached out to touch one
But the grandma slapped my hand.
"What's left is just for looking,"
And she smiled a little sad.
"Hurry now, we're running out of time!"
She scolded as they began to push my bed.
"It won't fit," I cried,
but they only pushed some more.
At One there was a thump
And I tumbled to the floor.
Party horns were blowing
And I tried to clear my head.
Everything was where they were
When I had gone to bed.
But for a moment I thought I saw
Behind me in the gloom
A door closing where none had been....
