Hi.
You can call me Expendable.
Or Ex.
Everyone's more comfortable with Ex.
Who am I?
Would you believe I'm a seven-foot tall minecraft-playing hindu guru drag-queen alien?
Why not?
...so you're curious.
Sorry, there's nothing to see here.
Move along now.
Move along.
What do I like?
Anime, obviously
Manga too
Anime Music Videos
Science fiction. Love me some Dr. Who or Firefly
British mysteries and dramas.
Writing
Role-playing - especially science fiction but I'm flexible
Sketch-up - a 3D graphics program
What's this journal for?
I like to share small things from time to time.
Maybe you'll like them too?
Or not.
Anyway, welcome to my journal.

Metal and Plastic
metal and plastic,
flesh and blood.
a heart that beats
to a digital drum.
monitors beep softly
as a surgeon recreates
what nature gave
and time abates.
as you reach out to touch me,
I wonder what you see?
the tatters of my flesh,
or the metal underneath?

Hey, Ex! ^_^ Your reply about the fireworks video that they took down made sense btw. I don't really see that happen with too many videos though, like maybe only a handful. You'd think someone was telling people how to make bootleg DVDs or something. Seems like kind of a pretty drastic thing to do to remove the video when it's just a fireworks video though.
How have you been since last time? *bearhugz*

I'm good. I've managed to get scheduled next week for a covid vaccine shot.

Yuss!!! Congratz, Ex! Almost halfway there.
Glad that you're doing okay. ^_^ With the virus mutating so much it gets me more concerned than usual about staying in contact with everybody I can. *BEARHUGZ*
Have you made any new projects with Sketch-up?

Practice makes perfect though. ^_^ Can you basically make anything in that program though?

One guy I know who works in Sketchup knows how to skin his models, he doesn't even need to render like I do. It's incredible work, I'm envious. He's also good with more organic shapes.
But yeah, you can make a lot in Sketchup.

It's a lot more intricate than I first assumed. It's something I'd like to get into at some point to see if I'd be any good at it. I'm kind of curious to see what I'm good at lately. Is Sketchup free?

I'm using one of the older desktop clients, but there's an online version you can use for free, one project at a time. Unfortunately, can't actually render from it.

Ohhh. idk in that case. Even with my image projects in Photopea I have multiple projects open at once. I'll keep it on my radar though but I might just be decent with avy/sig making and not much else.

It seems like it would take a different kind of thinking to use that one. I'm more used to fictional themes for the pic editing I do. I'm hoping that makes sense. I really wish I was better at conveying what I'm trying to say. lol

Why would the pro license not be offered anymore? You'd think they'd be all for it. I mean, it seems like it would make them a sizable amount of money.

the old license was $600. Now they're on a subscription model with the latest version.
