Yeah dude I was freaked out.

I got this rash last wednesday and was like wtf and figured that it was something stupid like contact dermatitis maybe from the detergent they use to wash our costumes at work. But then it got a little bigger and started HURTING. like not itching, not like that mosquito bite itch type hurt, but like actually hurting. Like im being stabbed and it BURNS. So I was like alright... going to urgent care because wtf is this. I get there, the dr takes one look at it from like 5 ft away and goes "Oh! Thats shingles!"

I was like.... come again? she goes "Yeah, thats singles. see how its just in this one spot? and it has blisters. thats is absolutely shingles." :| I was like well that SUCKS! like wtf. She gave me an antiviral and was like "I think because its still so angry we should be able to get it with the antiviral. Normally after 72 hours of when it started the antiviral isnt very helpful but this looks like its very aggressive... are you taking anything for pain?" im like... i take tylonol... because thats all i can take without ending up in the er for an allergic reaction... and she goes "OH! ok im gunna give you something for the pain.. let me just do a quick google because I dont wanna give you something that will react to your other medications." I was like shit ok.

I have shingles.... wtf.. And like... its a virus and is just the reactivated version of the chicken pox so Im like ok... am I contagious? because like.. I have a job and shit. She said only if someone touches it. And even then I would be giving them chicken pox if they havent been vaccinated or havent had chicken pox. So like its fine but it HURTS. Like HURT HURTS. UGH!!!

one of my friends was like "we need to just put you in a bubble."

Its like ever sense I turned 29 I just accrue a bunch of injuries and weird illnesses. :soul: :soul: :soul: :soul: :soul:

I thought i was cursed with things. I mean the year before covid I got pneumonia in October, then in February i got influenza b right before covid restrictions started to go into effect. Otherwise last year was okay. Then this year i ended up tearing both my archilies tendons. Before all that i had to have a scan of my lungs with spectrum which they insert liquid to make sure there wasn't anything that shouldn't be in my lungs. That was scary but at least my lungs are clear. I just had some issues with my asthma and my doctor sent me to a lung specialist which helped get my medication correct so now I'm not as in the position where I'm sick all the time. Just had some bad luck i guess.

geeeeeze
I had pneumonia in like 2012 and nearly died. So I totally get that it SUCKS. Covid happened and then I broke my wrist, learned that Im allergic to NSAIDs, which means I have to do like weird extreme treatments for my migraines, and then my husband totaled our car and we had to get a new one. Its just one thing after another it seems.

I am still trying to deal with getting my son into preschool. Its been a weird mess. I just dont understand why preschool is so fucking expensive.

Sorry you got Shingles. /: You really seem to be on a long-lasting bad luck streak. *BEARHUGZ* Does it still itch?

Yeah its a little itchy. but its more like a healing tattoo type itchy so its fine. it has scabs so that sucks. According to my dr this is going to be a recurring issue now. That every 6mo to a year I should expect to get an outbreak in different places now that I have had it. So hopefully I can get the vaccination soon.

side note:

today is my last day off work until monday. And I need to get a whole bunch of stuff done today. Ive been fighting with two different pharmacies all day and my dr office over a simple clerical error they made. They kept sending my meds to a pharmacy that doesnt accept my insurance. So thats cool. I had to play phone and fax tag with the dr office and two separate pharmacies. ANYWAY

I have so much to do today, and it really doesnt take that long to do I just dont want to do it.
IE
-clean the kitchen
-clean the living room
-clean the bathroom
-clean my bedroom
-clean my sons room
-take out all the trash
-load the laundry card
-do laundry
-put the laundry away
-make dinner
-shower
-bathe the little one
-make all the beds
and so much more. my ADHD does NOT make this a simple task. But in reality it shouldnt take more than like 3 hours to get it all done.

the trick is to leave the house to do productive things. I cleaned and washed my care, picked up medications, and then when you get home you dont take your shoes off because then you lose the momentum.
