Today's 'fun'

Following the battery issues with my car - had to jump start it yesterday (it had dropped to 8V after 4 days sitting - should be at 12V). Went to bank to drop off scottish money I've not had time when banks open since my last trip to Scotland. Then went to HAlfords (where I bought my battery). Got it checked, but their machine said it's fine, just needs a recharge. Because their machine isn't picking up faults, they won't change it under warranty. Said I need to get it fully checked at a garage, and checked for faulty electrics :/ (Only thing connected that could possibly have drained it is the dashcam hardwire, but that was set to turn off when battery drops below 12.4V, and was already turned off, so it only works when engine on and running now).

HAd to jump it again today, and now I've got warning lights on my dash ¬¬ Manual says those lights require dealer specialist check. :/ Need to find my OBD reader to identify actual codes (if I can), and clear them, to see if it reoccurs.


But don't know what would/could have caused the fault out of the blue, so could be more expensive repairs I could do without :/

Yeah, gotta wait until Monday when garage can get a proper look at it. Likely battery, or possibly starter. Either one is about £100 (Plus labour for starter fitting - I reckon garage prolly won't charge labour for all the time it takes to fit the battery)

Well. Semi-successful stream.

Managed to get it to stay connected (well mostly) for nearly 2 hours. It ended up disconnecting, but reconnected (so wasn't internet dying this time!). However, looking back on the three pieces, the quality was crap, and borderline unwatchable until the last 40 mins (where the last setting I changed gave more 'stable' and higher bitrates, so better quality. :/)

However - I'm in the middle up uploading the recording to youtube, which wasn't scaled down to 720p, and as recorded and not streaming, doesn't appear to have degraded like the stream did!

The only downside is the small 5min stream segment (between the two main lengths) would almost be perfect for a clip as a funny moment. But the quality renders most of it unwatchable

So I need to work out how to extract/make a clip of the same bit from the recording

Hope the stream went well Couldn't make it cause of meetings but looks fun

I thought YouTube had tools that let you cut things from videos? Also, did you verify your YouTube account? It only lets you upload 5 minute long videos at most if you don't. I don't know of any video editors though sadly. Wish I did so I could recommend one. /:

I am verified - SD version is live, gotta wait for HD to process for it to go live ( likely tomorrow)

I've got a couple programs, just need to learn how to use them fully xD (Da Vinci Resolve, and Affinity designer are both able to do video edits - davinci is more comprehensive. (And also free version has something like 90% of it's functionality, and the remaining 10% of stuff isn't really relevant until/IF I get big enough to need more pro-level stuff.

I know what you mean. The angle I know though is from image editors but it gets overwhelming when there's a plethora of options. I mean, variety is kewl but not when there's too much of it. lol

Sounds like you've had fun. I can't really help you with video editing because I don't know much about it. I've only done very basic stuff. I've converted stuff to different formats plenty of times, needed to do so for a few different reasons. That's all I know about videos
