So on top of all the drama with kids and stuff, it seems I earned myself a written warning from work as well.

The biggest problem is my consistent tardiness. I am often late to work by a few minutes, but apparently a few other parts of my work have been flagged as well (the majority of which have been blown out of proportion, or are actually false) but two incidents last week really got me the warning. The first was that I rang in on Sunday evening explaining that I may not be able to go to Wales for the following week to complete a job, as I was waiting for an ambulance for my 5 week old daughter, and the second was that I was 21 minutes late (the exact time was quoted to me by someone who doesnt start til half hour after i do, so I was grassed up on this one) because I was waiting to pass my 3 year old son into the care of his grandmother that morning.

Oh man.. That sounds awful, but you really can't help your children being admitted into hospital etc, If you give them a minimum of an hour in advance that you'd be late, that should have been okay..
Maybe see if you can talk it out with your manager and tell them your situation!

Imma going self employed the end of this week, doing similar jobs but getting paid more and being my own boss!

Sounds good to me but being your own boss can be stressful too as you're responsible for everything

The biggest benefit to me is that I won't be getting official warning letters from my employers by daring to put my family first.

That is a major benefit! That seems over the top giving an official warning for that

Yeah well there was other reasons given but they were a lot of not picking and not always true. Factually accurate maybe, but not really true.

I felt really undervalued there though, especially in the last year or so.
