Karaoke with Lloydiboy

Hi!

I'm Lloydiboy (or just Lloyd, but I prefer Lloydi these days).
I'm a 35 year old geek living and working not too far from Cambridge in the East of England.
My general interests are reading and gaming and pretty much all things techy (especially if it has flashy lights on it)
I've been labeled amongst certain sub-cultures in my life ranging from Goth and Emo to Raver and Nerd. I'm very much just me though and I'm interested in most things.

So probably a quick run down of things I like before we get into the meat of my new ALJ:

I don't tend to watch much TV except for Doctor Who and the odd sports coverage.
Likewise I have phases of watching films or not. I'm more or less up to date with the Marvel universe though.
I generally prefer to read the book than watch the film/TV series.
Book genres are a mixed bag but I'm normally interested in Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Erotica.
Music tastes include Rock, Metal, Classical, EBM, 80's pop, late 90's dance and trance. I generally don't get on with Rap and RnB and really don't enjoy much of todays pop music scene.

So after years of being semi active on the site, I've decided to do another attempt at a Journal. I think we can thank the recent match-up for this!

Thanks to a recent tendency of facebook to remind you of what you were doing on this day 12 years ago, I've decided that the principle theme of this journal will be similar to that of my early 20's status updates, and made up utilising song lyrics. Lets see how long I keep that up for...

There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me

Hi hi Momo!

Todays song:

Du, könntest Du schwimmen
Wie Delphine, Delphine es tun
Niemand gibt uns eine chance
Doch können wir siegen
Für immer und immer
Und wir sind dann Helden
Für einen Tag, ja

It doesn't hurt me
Do you wanna feel how it feels?
Do you wanna know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you wanna hear about the deal that I'm making?

Today was full of production. After spending most of the week manipulating results to use in a report, I ended up using 3 lines of data to make a series of pie charts :D

Oh well, kept me entertained for a few days

To be fair only the most relevant to the job at hand, and it did take me a while to actually find the relevant data from the approximately 800 parameters available to me that would produce the data I needed to present.

I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track
I looked round
And I knew there was no turning back
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you

Yay I won the bug off!

So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But I'll be stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is okay
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

I sing this like every time in karaoke.

Hallo JeeCay?

The bug off is an in game event that happens once a month in animal crossing Momo.

Near a tree by a river
There's a hole in the ground
Where an old man of Aran
Goes around and around
And his mind is a beacon
In the veil of the night
For a strange kind of fashion
There's a wrong and a right
But he'll never, never fight over you

What kind of Emo? This term can mean different things nowadays...

I'd live for you
I'd die for you
Do what you want me to
I'd cry for you
My tears will show
That I can't let you go

unoduetre it was mostly at the time the term was being bandied about back in the early 2000s for kids into the emerging emo music scene, not quite the mainstream nu metal scene and not classic metal and gothic rock, more the angsty teen music of the time. Specifically the music I tended to listen to was by the likes of Thursday, Finch, Taking Back Sunday and Funeral for a Friend. So probably more the Screamo scene!

Late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal
Red light, can't stop, so I spin the wheel
My world goes black before I
Feel an angel lift me up
And I open bloodshot eyes
Into fluorescent white
They flip the siren, hit the lights
Close the doors, and I am gone

So so so tired

Finally it's the weekend!
Damn it's felt like forever this week

A second of reflection
Can take you to the moon
The slightest hesitation
Can bring you down in flames

A single spark of passion
Can change a man forever
A moment in a lifetime
Is all it takes to break him
