I wish I had today off! Full electrical test of a petrol station and its shop. Followed by crawling through a loft to replace a shower fan....
Hope everyone's had/having a good day

I have every day off. It's not as much fun as you might think.

I'm sure they'd let you go back to work if you asked, everywhere's in need of good staff at the moment.

I'm in a similar situation to you. Take one look mat my DOB and the shutters go up.

Yeah, and with all due respect your problem's even worse because you're older than I am :(

I really dislike the stigma of saying the older the person is the most likely they'll suck at there job. I've worked with older people and they can sometimes do more then younger. I mean if someone has experience does it really matter how old a person is?

Not sure how it is in the US, but over here age is the one thing they're legally allowed to discriminate on.

Like I've been trying all year to get on a game programming course up at Peaks College, but as I was 47 last month, they keep telling me I'm too old.. I wouldn't mind but when I originally did College between 1995 and 1997, I was the second eldest on my course, and I was late teens/early 20s then.

That sucks. That's because jobs want younger people working, some jobs are just by age and looks. I'm like you can never tell how old a person really is or how they'll work though. Sometimes I don't get the world you know.

Yeah like I'm late 40s, but most people would tell you I definitely don't look it, according to analysis of various selfies on Facebook, I look more like late 20s/early 30s.

+1 on this, also comes down to good old fashioned work ethic, you have it, or you don't, age is not a factor.

Evening all BTW, hope you all had a better weekend than me!
