Official update: I think I've fixed it. The server was not forwarding on emails when it received them. That behaviour broke things such as the contact forms for the event websites, and system emails (such as telling us about problems, or reports on software updates). It also broke people replying to our emails (such as customers with problems/questions). These are kinda important things
I spent the last few hours hunting down the problem, it was more bad information for the server config. The official documentation is a waste of time and is really poorly written, and I've lost a couple dozen hours of work time (estimated) on this now. No more. It's fixed. I have a backup of the working settings, I have notes on possible problems/solutions, and I know how to use the program without checking for help online. Done, no more >_>
