Middle of the week already? A Bank Holiday weekend really makes the time fly.

Off to York on Sunday for another short break. Taking #2 with us just to get him out of the house. The City will be packed because of the extra Bank holiday, but it is always a lively place to visit.

The end of May already?

Well, a period of calm before I go away on holiday at the end of next week. So frustrating that my recovery is taking so long. Another month before I can even think about resuming full training. Working in the garden this week has shown just how far I still have to go. Bending down is still a problem, and any lifting is still out of the question.

#2 is working on his next cosplay. He is picking up some 3D printed props tomorrow for his Johnny Silverhands costume. I'm thinking of putting a Himura Kenshin Cosplay together for the Cons where I go on my own.

So many bank holidays omg! I know its been a while now but Ive lived in York for a couple of years and couldn't resist the reply! I always seem to remember York always has something going on in the city centre when its a bank holiday or just a holiday in general! I hope you did something nice while you were there. Can't believe we are pretty much halfway through the year, I think its gone by so quickly, it will be summer holidays before we know it.

This time next week I will be away on holiday. A nice relaxing week at the coast, just me and Mrs Oji.

A busy week ahead until then. I Have a tree surgeon coming on Monday to cut back a tree in the back garden that has grown a bit too enthusiastically over the last 20 years. Then I will be finishing the fence off. A few other garden projects to get started. then we can just sit back and enjoy through the summer.

Last night was a bit surprising.

I've been turning up to TKD sessions for the last few weeks, not to train myself (still under Doctor's Orders) but to assist the instructor. Turned up last night to be told "This session is yours." If he had messaged me during the day I could have had a lesson prepared, but I had to make one up on the fly, hampered by the fact that I couldn't really demonstrate any of the leg techniques for the benefit of the younger/newer members. Muddled through it somehow, and the adults looked nice and sweaty at the end so I must have pushed them a little bit.

Apparently there will be more of these coming my way over the summer, so looks like I had better type up some lesson plans and take them with me every week.

As promised way back on page 10, here are some of the prop swords I take to Cons. I'll post the metal swords later.

Yep! Although it's a tad over 4ft long, it's plastic and actually designed to bend when thrust into something. I wore it to the Elsecar Con in 2022, and the SAGC in 2021. I've got a picture somewhere...

I wore the Katana to SAGC 2022, and to York in 2022.

Aren't you a bit more advanced (and not just in years :D ) than a white belt though?

I'm Cosplaying as a general character from the Manga/Anime Bleach, and they have a white sash. (Although some fanart depicts it as yellow).

Ooh must have good look outs of the sea and a sea breeze that's like when I'm at the ocean when I visited San Francisco
