Hi I'm DjD, or Daz
47 years young (my knees say different!) as of the 10th...
Not really done Anime or Cosplay before.
I've always liked Studio Ghilbi films, apart from Grave of the Fireflies, no, just no, never again!
Before that I used to watch the mainstreams of Manga I suppose you could call them, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Fist of the northstar (which got me into it).
2 years running I've done Halloween week at Butlins in Skegness, where I've been a 7ft tall T-rex, a Ghostbuster and Joaquin Phoenix's The Joker.
I'll be a Ghostbuster next Month at my first 'Con in Birmingham, trying to make my 11 year old Phoebe Spengler,(Which she did at Halloween) as I just landed the Hasbro Pulse Afterlife Proton Pack, but bless her, she struggled to wear it due to the weight. So I think she'll just carry the PKE meter.
I play Genshin Impact thanks to the Step-daughter, I only played it so she could farm my world, now it's swallowed my free time when I'm not working.
Hi!

Hi Daz, and welcome to the AnimeLeague forums.
I know what you mean about the knees, but keep on plugging away. Great to hear that you enjoy getting out there in costume. I attended many Halloween Events with my kids. Funnily enough, #2 did Joaquin Phoenix's Joker as well. The make-up would have worked better if he had shaved first lol.
I don't game exactly for the reason you have given. Gaming, or anime & manga? I chose the latter.
I hope you have a great time here, and If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask...anybody but me. Joking aside, If I can help you with anything, just give me a shout.

To those just starting on the journey of life I say...
Bang your own drum. Walk your own path. Live wildly. Love fiercely.
As you near the end, look back with no regrets.

Thank you for the welcome!
Finished article, I did shave!

A bit like this? my usual facial hair

The knees have no choice, I'm an electrician by trade! not doing this year as a garden upgrade is being paid for, this did upset my daughter as she wanted to be Bennett from Genshin Impact this year.
And thank you!!

Welcome again to Anime Leauge DjD
Happy belated birthday!
If you like Studio Ghibli films, I'd recommend Mary and the Witch's Flower by Studio Ponoc (founded by a former Studio Ghibli producer). I refuse to watch Grave of the Fireflies because I'll become a snot-goblin

And yes unless you like seeing a full grown man becoming a blubbering wreck, I'm not watching it ever again, as beautifully done as it was. To quote Lana Kane:
Noooooooooope!

Hi and thank you for the welcome, Thank you for the Birthday wishes
Hard to say which is my favourite, Spirited away was my first watch, really fell in love with that, and I really enjoyed Howls moving castle as well, they probably are my favourite 2. Tales from Earth sea and Castle in the sky are up there as well.
