This thread can be used for a multitude of reasons as is listed below, BUT...
if you need help and aren't sure where to go, you're in the right place! Ask your questions!
An admin or another member of staff will respond to you as quickly as possible. =)

General Questions & Help:
  • Confused over something? Want to know how to do make a dropbox, put a signature up, where you can spend your AL Points, how to enter a clan, etc? Ask your questions here. This is the only guaranteed way to get a response. PMing an admin or member of staff with a question does not always guarantee a quick reply. However we will try to help you to the best of our ability as quickly as we can. All questions asked here will usually have a response to them within 48 hours. Not fast enough for you? Check out the FAQ's and see if that helps!

  • Staff will announce awards handed out, contest winners, and so forth in this thread! To view how we do awards, check the Award FAQs.
Make Forum and Staff Suggestions:
  • If you've got an idea - we want to hear about it! Forum idea's, events, games, changes, improvements, etc, any or all of the above are always welcome. The idea will be passed through the right chains of command! Want to recommend someone for a staff position? It wouldn't be the first time someones been promoted because of it! Tell us why you think that person is an outstanding leader and what they do on the board to deserve the promotion. Your recommendation will be taken in to consideration the next time a position opens!
Staff Changes:
  • To view more info about staff check the Staff FAQs.
Forum Bans - Temporary, Indefinite, and Permanent:
  • The Admin team will keep an updated list of any member that has been placed on a ban.
  • Temporary bans are usually for those first timers - the ban will be lifted at a certain time which will be posted.
  • Indefinite bans are issued for those who didn't quite learn the first time or did something really offensive on the board. Indefinite means a time limit has not yet been determined and is up to the admins discretion as to when to lift it. We will let the banned member back on the board but only after we feel the offense will not be repeated.
  • Permanent bans are for the hackers, the trolls, those that issue threats, etc - the big time trouble makers deliberately seeking to upset the community of AL. Permanent bans are not lifted. You've done something outrageous enough that we can never trust you back on the board.

●●● Join the Animeleague Assistant Team! ●●●

Why Become an Assistant?
  • Assistants are vital AL. Assistants help Anime League by raising activity, bringing in new members, getting old members returning, contributing to the community and/or aiding moderators in different sections with various projects. Each team is different and designed to contribute to a section to ensure it stays running properly and with ample care. To show our appreciation for the hard work of assistants we give you weekly credits, bonuses when you do an extraordinary job with events, as well as nominate you for awards that get showcased in your profiles!

Assistant Responsibilities

a) Recruitment. Bringing in new members
b) Getting new members active
c) Bringing back old members
d) Posting around, getting involved, making topics on AL and generally raising activity
e) Helping out the mods. Though please note - Assistants cannot moderate a forum or enforce rules. Instead, it is their job to report any issues to mods.

What's a General Asssistant and Section Assistant

Understand that unless you state otherwise, that all assistants that apply here will be made GENERAL ASSISTANTS. This means your focus is mainly on helping with the above. Some sections have their own assistant schemes for SECTION ASSISTANTS - if you're interested in becoming a section assistant then please either apply in that forum or state very clearly here that you wish to be a section assistant.

The Best Assistants Will:
  • Show Motivation and Initiative: Think of ideas to help sections and improve them. If something isn't working then don't be afraid to report this to the section moderators and head moderator.
  • Socialize, respect and get on with everyone: Do not get into fights, drama or arguments and generally be well-liked and respected. Also, be social and open to people to chat and engage with them. Respect staff and the admins.
  • Be an active part of the community: Post plenty and get involved .

You Will Be REMOVED As an Assistant IF:
  • You Are Not Helping Out: If you're not really doing very much you'll be removed
  • You're on Probation: If you are put on a probation or banned you will lose your assistant status.
  • Absent for a long time: If for whatever reason you're gone for 3+ weeks and have not previously told your head moderator of your absence, you will be removed. If you return after this time, simply PM us why you were absent and we can re-add you quickly and easily.

  • Really there isn't a "bad" answer to this. Please don't over-exaggerate thinking it'll make you look better. Just be honest. Tell us how much time you can realistically put into your work as an assistant.
2. Do you understand the obligations of being an assistant ?
  • If you are not sure which section you would like to join, we can suggest one for you!
3. Assistant Type:
  • Are you applying to be a general assistant or a section assistant and if so which section? (IF unsure leave blank and we'll assign you to be a general assistant).

  • Were you referred by a member of staff and if so, who? If no one referred you, you can skip this question.

Assistants and how they're run are changing! Please note that most assistants will going forward become GENERAL ASSISTANTS. These assistants focus on -

a) Recruitment. Bringing in new members
b) Getting new members active
c) Bringing back old members
d) Posting around, getting involved, making topics on AL and generally raising activity
e) Helping out the mods. Though please note - Assistants cannot moderate a forum or enforce rules. Instead, it is their job to report any issues to mods.

Once you're made an assistant you'll be added to an assistants council subforum in Entrance Hall where you can report in and contribute to this.

SECTION ASSISTANTS - Most sections have their own assistant schemes still - if you're interested in becoming a section assistant then please apply in that specific forum and not here or speak directly to the hmod of that forum. Don't apply in this topic here!

I can easily put in 2-4 hours a day helping out. Some days I will be able to do more but I am at university so close to deadlines I will be only able to do the 2-4 hours.

2. Do you understand the obligations of being an assistant ?
I fully understand the obligations of being an assistant and I look forward to helping out as much as I can.

3. Assistant Type:
I am applying for a general assistant. However if you need help in another specific assistant I am flexible.

Currently unemployed so can be around most of the day at the minute this may change obviously when employment comes along

2. Do you understand the obligations of being an assistant ?
I think I still remember the general gist of the role and requirements

3. Assistant Type:
My experience was mainly as a chat and CL assistant so I'd prefer to be assigned to one of these sections

I have my mobile phone so I can be on at any time basically.

2. Do you understand the obligations of being an assistant ?
Yes I do. I was one before.

3. Assistant Type:
I am applying for General assistant. I have interest in the Creative Writing and Arts and the mobile chat.

I really enjoyed my time on this site when I was younger and I was a mode before for General Discussion and would love to mod the mobile and and Creative Writing and Arts.
