they might as well just make eevee a starter and give you your choice of stone when the time comes to evolve it storyline wise

and make every eeveelution evolvable by stone

but some of them are so awkward to evolve, like leafeon and glaceon

you can't even get a glaceon in like sun/moon until the end of the game : /
