indeed, i wasn't a huge fan of the monkeys, and it seems neither was the pokemon community

but they also tried island trials and the like on gen 7 and after a while those weren't well received either

i think people just like going back to what worked

Yeah, personally I think they should just go back to the basics. Everyone seems to enjoy them more.

i think that's what we'll see in the next mainline games, at least

where ever they're going to take place

i doubt we'd see an entire gen of remakes though

Hmm..it's going to be a tough one, because I'm surprised they didn't wait to make a full mainstream remake for the Switch, but then again...I suppose sales of ORAS helped towards making the game a reality.

according to wikipedia it's actually the highest grossing franchise

which i can see, but it's amazing it beats out disney and star wars
