Yeah same to be honest. But I am finding it better than Pokemon Sun, which seems weird as it's literally more or less the same game.

Yeah, I asssumed it was going to be a Black & White / Black 2 & White 2 kinda difference. A lot of people did mention to me that Sun/Moon and their Ultra counterparts were quite similar.

Indeed. I was expecting it to be like that. Pleasantly surprised in some respects. I’ve yet to reach the extra bits yet like meeting Team Rocket and wormholes but I’m intrigued to see what they are like

Mhm. Same here! Though it'll probably take me a bit. Usually I manage to get through a Pokemon game within a day or two. Life has certainly slowed me down.

So are USUM more like Crystal and Platinum then?

I'm a lil disappointed, as I assumed they'd be more like BW2.

Surprisingly when I first bought Platinum, I wasn't really disappointed that is was not too different than D/P, so maybe I won't be too disappointed with the Ultra being similar to S/M.

Now see I enjoyed Platinum and Crystal, but then Emerald was another one, but I enjoyed that as well. As far as I can see so far, there ain't a lot of differences, except the extra content of Team Rocket etc... But then I am shamed to admit that I didn't really enjoy Sun and Moon all that well. But the Ultra versions are a little more appealing somehow...

Oh yeah, Emerald.. I remember that being good too. I didn't mind Sun and Moon, since I kinda liked how they changed the whole gym situation into trials. Made it unique and all.

The Ultra versions definitely seem more fun, I just don't think I can handle another not-sequel.

It feels like they're taking a step back, kinda like added DLC but it's a full price game instead. >_<

I liked Platinum too. It's the definitive version of that game, imo. Plus I love Giratina, and winter/snow are pretty.

It feels like USUM should've been the real SM, to me, since it finishes a lot of plot points that're kinda left hanging in SM.

Agreed. I would have much preferred the Sinnoh remakes rather than US/UM to be honest. Like you say, US/UM should have been the main games for Alola, and then we could have had Sinnoh remakes, which would be epic.

Yeah I love Emerald. It really brought Hoenn to the forefront. And the fact that they made Steven a Red type of boss was pretty sweet, because let's face it, Wallace was a slight disgrace as a Champion.

I know I'm being a little mean to Wallace. I don't actually despise him, I love most of the Hoenn characters. It's just him being a Champion was a slight let down, because he was probably one of the easiest ones to beat. I preferred him more as Gym Leader.

Haha, yeah I figured. xD Let's be honest, he was chosen 'cause he's the "pretty boy" and for no other reason.
