Overall Synopsis of Series
Quoted from MyAnimeList
The protagonist is a teenage girl (Tamaki) who revisits a small village, she remembers from her childhood and gets caught up in her family's history and supernatural dangers surrounding it.
While walking along the hillsides waiting for the person who her grandmother sent to fetch Tamaki to the village, Tamaki comes across a small, white round object with sticks for limbs and talks. It runs off soon after, with Tamaki chasing after it. Soon Tamaki finds herself in a place where ‘it doesn’t feel like the world I came from’. She gets attacked by three slime creatures, and a male comes charging in to save her - by clamping his hands around her body and mouth and telling her to be quiet.
Basically the protagonist comes back to the old village she grew up in after getting a summons from her grandmother. From there she learns she is next in line to be the next Tamayori Princess who is in charge of guarding a sacred sword.

This was sadly one of those series' I had a little trouble keeping with because of the plot. It was ok, but there wasn't much there other then the pretty bishie men to make me want to come back each week.
Tamaki is a cheerful girl with a gentle nature. She is the next Tamayorihime after her grandmother.
Unofficial leader of the guardians and descendent of a giant snake. Suguru is the tactician of the group and can create powerful seals and barriers, as well as control water. He is very polite and reliable, but has a childish side. He's usually seen smiling and loves drinking tea.
An upperclassman of the main character and one of the five guardians. Mahiro is the descendent of the raven and can control the wind. He is extremely self-conscious when it comes to his height and is usually very loud, energetic, and can act immature. However when needed, he can show a serious side. He prefers women with big breasts and loves motorbikes and fried noodle buns.***
One grade below the main character and another guardian. Shinji has the power of healing (kaifuku) and can use the power of words to control things. Despite his looks he is very strong-willed and stubborn.
An upperclassman of the main character and another of the five guardians. Yuuichi is the descendent of the nine-tailed fox and specializes in using illusions and spirit fire. He is very quiet and seems to be rather emotionless. He often spaces out and has the ability to sleep anywhere at anytime.
The first guardian the main character meets and also her classmate. He has much strength, but is also quite slow. His hobby is doing crosswords and he enjoys eating taiyaki. He is the descendant of the oni, whose power is very hard to control, especially when near the sealed magical sword Onikirimaru.

The characters where ok, though I feel there could have been more into the development of the characters particularly learning a bit more about each of them and the Tamayori princess thing. Sadly the only sving grace was the guys where nice to look at.
Total Stars: 4 of 5
The art wasn't too bad for the series, though it felt a bit plain all around...and they really didn't seem to go anywhere much, so it was usually a lot of the same places used over and over again.
The series was ok overall, but the bland plot and lack of any real scenery made the series lose a lot of luster. About the main thing that made me feel like continuing to watch each week just to finish was to drool over the bishies...particularly Takuma. Other then that the plot was sort of dull, anime wise, though I hear the games and light novels are a bit more interesting.

Likelyhood to Recommend: MAYBE
But only to someone who might be kind of bored and needs something quick to kill time.
