Any tips for new teenage cosplayer?

Hi, Im fifteen and will be cosplaying at LAGC with one of my friends (shes fourteen.) I was just wondering 1) will it be okay if im a teenager? Does anyone know of any other teens who might be going? And 2) any tips as this is my first time going to a con?

      Hi @saffixcherries !

Anyone is welcome to cosplay, just make sure you and your friend come in with an adult as under 16s need to be accompanied!
Although I don't personally know anyone your age going this time, there's always lots of people around that age there so i'm sure you'll run into plenty of people

Tips wise, remember that there's bag checks on the door, so don't bring anything like cans of drinks as the venue's security doesn't usually allow it. And make sure you drink PLENTY of water/similar fluids because with it being July it does get really easy to overheat. I can't think of anything else from the top of my head but if you have any specific questions feel free to comment back or private mesasge me and i'll do my best to help!

This con last year was my first time attending a convention on my own, and I had such a good time so i'm sure you will too! <3

Congrats on 1st show. no teenager discrimination present at event, considering the lightsaber duel was surrounded by a bunch of 12 year olds last time.

      1) dont be afraid to intriduce yourself and make new friends

      2)keep yourself hydrated throughout

3)can be worth checking on timetable before hand so you can bookmark in things you want to sign up for and see.

4)taking pictures is fine, though it is polite to ask first

5)be aware of what security say you cant bring in.

      6) worth while bringing cash in hand for some vendors who only take cash and the atm machines either run out or are far to replenish

7)can try getting involved in the meetups before the show starts to get to know people, eg waterloo and namco

8)people below a certain age cant stay till very late for reasons

      9) its going to be a possible hot June like last year so plan on having a comfortable cosplay to walk around in and do your basic functions

      10) have fun
