Saying 'hi' for my 11 yr old daughter who's anime-mad

I won't let her loose on here as she's only 11 but she's anime mad. Welcoming any age-appropriate comments, links, reading, etc for her. Thanks.

      Welcome to the community.

I cannot really answer your question well, since I do not watch anime with children, but I hope your daughter can find more titles to see with the help of other members.

Re: Saying 'hi' for my 11 yr old daughter who's anime-mad

Welcome to AL @Jo Woolridge . You're definitely in the right place. Sooooo.... I'm going to start by suggesting things that I'm sure you and her have already seen, but just in case: All of Studio Ghibli: Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service might be a bit too childish (though I still love them), but Howl's Moving Castle, Porco Rosso, and Spirited Away are probably just about right for her age. Fair warning, some of my cousins found Spirited Away a little scary, so you may want to watch it with her, just in case. Also, The Boy and the Beast (Hosoda), is really good. I think those films have universal appeal.

To get more specific, I'd need to know more about what kind of anime you and her have seen in the past. One newer series that I think might be good is Hakumei and Mikochi (it's on Hidive right now). I have yet to try it out on my teeming masses of cousins, nieces, and nephews, but I feel like it's going to be a hit with them.

Let me know if either of you has seen any of these and what kind of stuff she's been into and I'll be happy to give you more suggestions. I've had to pick anime for about every age and every taste given the ungodly number of children in my family.

      Welcome to AL @Jo Woolridge

This forum is definitely the right place for you, you have many members here who are also parents and are looking for new anime to watch together with their children.
Something I would recommend for you would be chatting in our chat room so you can talk to some of our members about this subject, everybody is very friendly here and they sure will be happy to help you discover new anime
I hope that you enjoy the forum and make some new friends along the way, if you need anything feel free to say or PM me.

Hi @Jo Woolridge Welcome to AL It's lovely seeing parents embracing their children's love of anime! I'm not sure myself of what anime I would let an 11 year old watch as I haven't ever been in that position But like everyone has said, what sort of anime have you both already watched?
