      The Price of Smiles

      From MAL:

On a planet far from Earth, there is a kingdom full of smiling faces. Princess Yuuki is 12 years old, and about to enter a sensitive age in a person's life. Everyday, she cries, laughs, and sometimes, her heart throbs with excitement. All the while, she lives merrily in the royal palace.

Filling her days are her loyal vassals: her tutor Reira, Izana who assists in political affairs, the leader of the chivalry Harold … and then there is her childhood friend and aide Joshua.

"Yuuki! If you have spirit and guts, you can do anything!"

"…No, not this again! Joshua, be nobler!"

Stella is 17 years old and a capable, reserved soldier. However, she is always smiling ... for smiling is essential to living.

This is a story of two girls born on distant planets.

      Re: The Price of Smiles

I've watched the first ep of it. A tip: watch the part after the ed.

At this point I have no idea whether it is good or bad. It might turn out either. The characters seem to be a bit childish.

I pretty much have the same opinion with the exception of the Princess’s tutor.

      Yeah.

        Spoiler:
I think that at some point they will confront the childish princess with the reality of the world she lives in. Depending on how they do it, it might turn out good or bad.

True but I don’t believe it’ll be intentional.

Yeah, I meant the authors, not other characters.

It certainly has the potential to be good if done right.

Sorry I misinterpret your earlier comment

      Sorry, that wasn't clear.

Let's see how it goes in the next ep!

A new ep is available. I've seen it already. The plot progressed.

Indeed, it could prove to be entertaining.

        Spoiler:

It was quite fast. I expected the authors to use more eps until the princess gets disillusioned. I wonder how she changes now. I hope they do the change in her behaviour well enough to be interesting.

        Spoiler:
Well, that was a fairly intense scene. Basically her best friend or only known family left died.

I don't see how they could have kept the war secret from her any longer considering that.

      @Tanya

        Spoiler:
Well, here are some of the options the creators can use e.g.
      1. She gonna get depressed and her cheerful personality gonna change.
      2. She gonna remove this event from her memory. (the repression mechanism)
      3. She gonna get angry and want to get revenge. (not very likely considering her personality)
      4. It'll be something less serious and she gonna recover from it fast and she'll decide to stop the war. (the most probable option in my opinion)

      Re: The Price of Smiles

I think so considering the opening and the first episode, number 4 is mostly like the course it'll take.

Do you have any other ideas how it might go, besides the four I gave?
