      Can You Survive?

No one knows when or how the world as we know it ended. All is known that the dead seemed to take over.At first no one thought it would happen to them.Simply kill the infected and the zombies they thought.Nope...It was soon known that even a non-infected person who had died simple came back as one of the walking dead.Hope seems lost.Cities are over ran. Many fled to the country or stayed trapped in the city.

Our story starts with those that managed to flee the cities and made camp in the hills far from the city. They have canned food, bottled water, tents, guns, knives, basic tools,a RV and 2 cars. They also have their wits and each other.

      -----------------------------------
        Spoiler:

      • You can either band together or pick each other apart
      • If you have watched the show "The Walking Dead" then congrats. You have a clue how this will go.
      • No one is "safe"

      ---------------------------

Sapphire laid in her sleeping bag a little extra longer. She heard her companions already awake and going about their day.She held her knife close because you never know what would will happen. She knew she had to get up and give the look-out a break. They took shifts.Everyone had a job to do.Things seemed simple since The Outbreak. All you had to do now was survive.Laws are out the window but they seemed to keep some sort of order. She sighed and got up and went to grab her breakfast.

Sapphire was called that simply due to her eyes. She didn't give anyone her real name. She stands at 5'7,slender with shoulder length black hair. She is average looking. She wears tennis shoes, jeans and a black t-shirt.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

Melissa sat upon a chair on top of the RV overlooking the hills below to make sure there wasn't any infected headed toward the camp. So far it was quiet so quiet you could hear the rest of the people in their small group moving around and doing morning stuff. As if there was something called morning and lunch or dinner time things to do it was either survive or die that were the rules now. At least she had found some cloths to replace the ones that were threadworm from running and running through the woods and getting cut by the underbrush. A pair of blue jeans that looked rather new, but she knew they weren't and a simple short sleeved shirt and a blue jean jacket that she tied around her waste since it was rather warm outside but the nights could get cold. Short blond hair once long before the outbreak was a bit messy, but it wasn't like she had a hairbrush and just relied on the water and her fingers to comb it out. If only time would go back to when she and her mother were running in the park without a care in the world instead of running away from a mob of the infected as she watched her mother scream for her to run as the infected engulfed her. Now she watched to make sure no one else had to deal with that.

Karl smeared his face with saliva, finding himself covered in his own spit as he awoke. He looked aout confused for a moment, letting his eyes lay on the items in the tent before he looked at the opening. Nobody had been in his tent. The brown eyed man sat up and moved the sword he'd bought online out of his way. Cold Steel, the sword was made to cut into human flesh but it had yet to see any action. He moved to his feet, shifting into a sweatshirt and cargo pants as he was perpetually cold, even wearing hoodies in the summer sometimes. Then he put on socks. Then shoes. Then his little sheathe for his sword, and then he placed on the sword. Now that he was fully awake he could hear the stirring from the other people at the camp, and he wondered what eveyone else was doing. He grimaced as his stomach growled like a tiger; he didn't bring much food but fruit rollups and some atomic fireballs but the cheerios from last night were still good. He sauntered over to the cheerios, plopped down, and began to eat.

Karl was a man of relatively average height; roughly 5'8" and about 200 lbs. He was more muscular than fat. His skin was ashen brown, meaning he hadn't showered for a day or so but he still had a can of axe body spray to deal with that. He was fairly attractive.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

People always said that children could tell that something bad was going to happen long before it happened, but others claimed that was nothing more than a myth. Myth or not, Lily tried to tell her parents and neighbors that something bad was going to happen to their town, but they all played it off to her immense imagination. Time and time again, she begged her parents to listen to her, but they shooed her back outside to play with the other children. Of course they wanted nothing to do with her because they felt she was nothing more than a freak. It wasn’t her fault that they were to dim to see that something terrible was about to happen. Instead of listening to their taunts, she went up into her treehouse and cuddled with her adorable leopard kitten, JuJuBeans. At least someone believed her even if it was just a kitty.

This was every day of her life until the chaos hit the fan, so to speak. Her parents were one of the first to decide they would stick it out because well, how bad could it really be? She spent her time in the treehouse that was high enough up that she could see over the trees and therefore could see most of the city. The ladder was pulled up so that no one else could enter her home away from home. Throughout the few months that she started sensing something was off, Lily had begun gathering up food that she could keep up in the treehouse and tons of water. Her parents were too busy competing with the Jones' that they didn’t notice things beginning to disappear. So, when the strange humans came and the mauling began, she curled up in the very corner the wooden building with JuJuBeans and closed her eyes and ears to the horrors happening below. No one knew that she was perched above them, which was a blessing, she supposed.

Unsure how long she had been up in the treehouse, Lily didn’t dare venture down to see if anyone else in the city was alive. No, it wasn’t safe down there for she could hear the undead shuffling around, moaning and slurping on the unfortunate human or animal that managed to walk in front of them. JuJuBeans kept close to her side, not wanting to be munched upon. Glancing over towards her food and water supply, she couldn’t help but frown. It was quickly diminishing and soon enough, she was going to have to venture out to find more. Quietly crawling towards the window, she peeked out the corner of it, glad when she didn’t see anything moving down below.

“JuJuBeans… what’re we going to do?” Slinking back towards corner, she sighed as JuJuBeans meowed and snuggled against her.

“I heard that there are people holed up in the hills, maybe we should go there? No… you’re right, too dangerous. Maybe this is just a huge nightmare and we’ll wake up soon? Yeah, you’re right… we’re awake in this horrible place. ”

Misty was up before everyone else at the camp. She was the hunter and gatherer. She hated to stay with the group long. She was a loner.Always have been. She was already on her way to the city to look for survivors and supplies.

She stood at 5'5,brown wavy hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was slender but had some muscles that she gained for carrying wild game often. She was lightly tanned. She wore black boots and had a hunting knife in the left side of them. She carried a cross bow over her shoulder and arrows in her backpack.Inside her back pocket she carried a fully loaded gun just in case.

She looked up at the sun and guessed she would make it to the city in about 2 hours max if she kept a decent pace. She rather not use a vehicle just in case of any of The Dead was nearby. She didn't want unwanted attention.Quiet was the best way for these gathering missions.

Sapphire went into the RV to grab a can of beans for her breakfast and 2 water bottles. She opened the beans and then grabbed her meal. She knew she had to quickly eat.She had to stay alert when she was keeping watch. When she was finished she placed the can back into the RV.They could always use it for something else.

She signed then exited the RV and started to climb up the side of it.She approached Melissa. "Hey,time for you to rest.I will keep watch for this shift." Sapphire let out a smile to her companion.

Sapphire was known as the kind but mysterious one of the group.Kindness was needed in this world that they now lived in.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

Curling up against one of the walls of the treehouse, Lily mused a bit about random things. She tried to remember how she heard about the place in the hills and why she thought people might be hanging out over there. Was it secure? No, from what she remembered from that one time she was taken on a tour by her parents, it didn’t seem all that protected, but maybe that was just because she didn’t see everything that might keep it safe. Why was she on a tour with her parents? Well, her mother had grown bored just being a housewife and decided that she wanted to get some fresh air or something. Her mom was bored within thirty minutes and switched her focus to making Lily into her little prodigy. Of course, everything that her mother wanted her to do wasn’t all that interesting to the rather gifted child, but she did it anyways because hearing her mother cry wasn’t exactly fun.

After the breakout of zombies or whatever the proper name for the shuffling creatures happened to be, her parents had opted to remain in their home. This lasted for a while until they realized that their home wasn’t as safe as they once thought. One night after having to kill their neighbor with a edger, her father made the choice to leave because his younger co-worker mentioned that it appeared that people were flocking there for shelter. Unfortunately, shortly after the co-worker made that observation, he was eaten on the way to his car. So, her parents decided that they would try to get to the hills and told Lily to go get her stupid cat from the treehouse and be back in the house in five minutes. Of course, she did as she was told, but as they were gathering up hardware supplies from the backyard to use as weapons, several hungry zombies wandered into the yard and made sure work of her parents. Immediately pulling up the ladder, she hid in the treehouse and muffled her sobs. So, here she wondering if it was worth trying to get to the hills or if she should just remain in the treehouse. Periodically she slipped into the house to shower and change, but she never felt completely clean.

      “…shhh… someone is down there.”

Her voice was nothing more than a whisper and she carefully peaked out of the window towards the ground beneath her. There was a male eating a female and she shifted backwards, hugging onto her kitty. She wouldn’t be safe much longer, because even if the zombies couldn’t get to her, she was going to run out of food. Frowning, the child decided that once the coast was clear, she would hijack her parents car and attempt to drive it to safety.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

Deep within her thoguhts of her past and holding on the the shotgun a little too hard she hasn't even heard Sappire climb up the ladder until she was litterly right upon her.

"Hey,time for you to rest.I will keep watch for this shift." Sapphire

Jumping from her lawn chair, she knocked it over and hit herself in the face with the shotgun saying ouch.

"Dang nab it wth." She cursed then covered her mouth once she realised what she had said and done.

Picking up the lawn chair and putting it back where it came from she turned back to Sapphire.

"Sorry I guess I'm more tired then I thought." She mummbled, handing her the shotgun and hurry down the ladder.

      ZOMBIE POST

      THE CITY

If things weren't already bad for those that remained in the city there happened to be an explosion in a residential area followed by gunfire.Seems that whoever did this was not thinking.Loud noises seem to attract the Undead along with lights.A few of the Undead were already arriving to the scene. After roughly 10 minutes later a hoard of them seemed to have gathered around the block.Sadly that a few of the Undead was in front of a house that seemed to have a little girl stuck in a tree house. The most of the hoard was a block away from the unsuspecting girl.

      THE CAMP

Things seemed calm at the camp.A few of the Undead happened to wander into the camp from the forest. No one seemed to have noticed. They were quietly wandering through...

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

At the sound of the explosion, Lily bit hard on her bottom lip to keep herself from screaming. She ducked and covered, fearful that the government had decided to bomb the city. However, when she heard the gunfire, she knew that they weren’t being bombed, but it was clear that things were getting worse. “Noms, we gotta go…” Shaking her head, she shifted back towards the opening of the treehouse and glanced down, glad that it appeared to be clear where she was currently at.

“Mmkay, we’re going to run into the house, grab the keys, and attempt to drive away.” Shimmying down, she silently moved into the house, NomNom settled close against her neck on her shoulder. Squeaking, she spotted a few of the Undead outside of her house and ducked down to hide herself while also trying to remember where the keys were at.

“I’m scared…” Whimpering softly, she moved through the house, glad the doors were at least locked.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

Melissa hurried down the ladder, it had been long shift of more thinking then looking but at least she hadn't seen any of the undead. It was pretty quiet outside a few birds chirping in the background, but they were always on guard not knowing how far the hordes had gotten. There were whispers of bigger hordes in bigger cities, but she'd seen a rather large one some time ago when she had first came across them. She only hoped they wouldn't run into a large one and just a few here and there or maybe find a place where there wasn't any. Was there a place though? If only they could turn back time, figure out what the virus was that caused it before it caused so much death and destruction.

Shuddering she really needed to lay down and rest her mind, but instead she went to the edge of one of the hills that was near them and looked over the land, that seemed so peaceful. That was when something grabbed her by the ankle. Looking down she froze for a second, but before she could scream for help the thing in front of her grabbed her hard enough she found herself falling downward, on a hill...…………

She tumbled, into the undead, taking it and her down the hill at a tumble. Her shreak was muffled as her face went into the undeads shirt. As she tumbled into rocks and the bushes on the hill until she land hard with the undead on top of her. Dazed she lay there numbly until she found the face in front of her and the noisse that came with them screaming she grabbed the face before it could bite her in the face with both hands. Hopeing to god there wasn't another one hear by or she would be zombie food.

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse (Casual/All Welcome)

Sapphire sighed as she looked towards the forest.Everything seemed calm but the air had a smell of death to it.Something that she hasn't smelled in a while. The last time she smelled the same stenched she had encountered The Dead.It took her a moment or two to process that. When she did process it she started to panic on the inside. She quickly but slowly scanned the camp and that was when she saw them....

She grabbed the "look out whistle" and she blew it three times and took a 10 count break before blowing it again. She repeated this pattern for a few minutes. She hoped that everyone in the camp heard the whistle. It was their code for when The Dead was near and they were in danger.Sapphire also knew the noise would lure The Undead towards her.She was also hoping and counting on this.Anything to help her companions and to give them a good advantage she was willing to do.Almost anything. She still wanted to survive as well.

She kept the shot gun close to her and ready when she blew the whistle. She even let out a smirk.

Let them come.I got this... she thought.

Jamie looked out of his improvised workshop when he heard Sapphire's whistle. He was 17,of average height and with thick, black, nearly shoulder-length hair that was kept out of his face by the band of his safety goggles that he nearly always wore when working. He was the more mechanical and academic of the group, and was always found tinkering in his workshop, upgrading and fixing parts of the RV, making new inventions and generally improving everyone's weapons and instruments. He was more self-reserved, and sometimes missed meals when doing big projects.

His father was a scientist in the government laboratory in the city, that was trying to find a cure to the zombie epedimic. One day, when Jamie was alone in their country home and his father was working late in the laboratory, he heard over the radio thathe undead had over run the part of the city that the lab was in. After the slow realisation that his father was never going to come back hit him, he packed a bag with his heavily-equipped toolbox, a small chemistry set, some material, enough food to last two weeks, book that belonged to his mother (who had died when he was born) and a few odds and ends and went out to the woods behind the house. (They lived in a sparesly populated neighbourhood, and the houses that were left were deserted.) He met Sapphire and the others shortly afterwards.

Jamie gave one glance at Sapphire and the surroundings and went back into his workshop to give the finshing touches to what he was working on.

Misty arrived to the city around noonish. Can't really judge the length of time anymore but the sun was in the middle of the sky. That was her best guess. She did encounter a few zombies on her way that she quickly and silently took care of.She scanned her surroundings. She did manage to arrive in a residential area. These were the best areas to scavenge. Most left in a hurry so there was a lot of useful items and food left behind.

Before Misty could grasp her surroundings she heard an explosion followed by gunfire. She wedged herself between two houses before any zombies came to investigate the noise.

When things seemed to have calmed down she managed to jump the fence and wandered into a backyard that had a treehouse in it.It seemed like someone had lived up there after the Outbreak. She hoped whoever lived there was ok.She rather not encounter any more zombie children. She then decided to pick the lock to the back door and entered the house...

The tall dark stawberry blond haired man zink and his best friend and big sister rose, started to pick off more of the zombies that have gathered round the house in the most creative ways, yes rose loves her wire yo yo's and gloves, while zink favors getting up close and personal with his kitans or one of his other bladed weapons. They could bother use a number of weapons and had tons of other creative ways of killing zombies they would even get paid for doing it.
