I'm not having an art block at the moment thankfully but sometimes i feel on the verge of burn out.
I'm quite prone to both artist block and burn out.
How do you all deal with this when it happens to you?
I can really only talk about writer's block, and it depends on what's causing it. If I can't seem to come up with any ideas or get interested about anything, that's when it's time for me to stop writing and go read. Other stories often give you ideas and get the creative juices flowing again.
If I have ideas but am working on something else first, that's when burnout tends to happen (and possibly writer's block with whatever section I'm trying to finish). In that case, I've found it's better for me to just move on to whatever the new idea is in my head, because that's where most of my creativity is focused anyway. It also helps keep your confidence up, because it keeps your project moving; and you'll likely find more enjoyment writing about the ideas currently going through your head rather than trying to finish last month's focus for the sake of completion. Keep writing fun; you can always go back to unfinished sections later, and by then your other work may even give you a better idea of how to finish them

I try to watch things or read things or just do things I enjoy to try to get inspiration from.
That or I think of my past that I can get inspiration from to write.
Happy New Year Everyone
Take a day to relax , go take in a street show , take you best guy/gal on a date ,just something to get a bit carbon out of the stacks , it will do you a world of good ...
i am working on the burn out portion now
right now my only advice is to power through, as bad as that advice is
or do something related to drawing/writing so you get a variety
if you're bored of figure/anatomy study in drawing, do a fun draw, something you're good at or something you love
if you're bored of poetry, try a short story, or even just outline one
variety not only builds on what you can work on/learn, it also helps break up the doldrums that can cause your metaphorical axe to blunt from cutting too much wood
@omfgzergrush out of curiosity, are you dealing with burnout with drawing or writing? I ask because I'm curious to see how my insights/advice hold up to other hobbies. (Basically, the advice was: if you can't find any motivation, stop what you're doing and read other stories/take in other artwork; if you're getting burnt out because you have other ideas in your head, work on the new ideas rather than focusing on past ideas for the sake of completion.) I wrote it with writing in mind, but, personally, I've found that "creative" hobbies have a lot in common, regardless of their specific form
drawing, i'm not much for writing
I wait for it to come back mostly. Sometimes it can be boosted by other people cheering me on or people that are excited about whatever it is I'm working on. When it's just me and I'm in a burn out I can draw for 5 mins tops before laying down my tablet pen and dropping my head on the keyboard. After that it becomes a chore that I do not even enjoy, and that's just not what drawing is supposed to be like for anyone unless they get paid handsomely for it.

My gfx block is almost permanent. My writing block less so but I still spend more time not writing than time writing.
How I deal with it? I quit. Life is too short to place intransient value on transient interests. It's not like it's my job or anything.

Tuck it away in a drawer for a while, come back to it later.
Maybe write something quick and funny for my own amusement.

Whenever I feel blocked or burnt out I just put it down and come back to it later when I am feeling inspired again...

Sounds like alot of people are doing it the same way i do it I often deal with it by taking some time of and waiting for that burnt out/not feeling it mood to pass.
Its amazing what a day or two off drawing can do.
