What music do you listen to when you're being drawing or writing?

I'm not sure about you but I cannot draw without music or some noise in the background.

My go to music to listen to while drawing are:
-the classics (Queen, Beatles, Pink Floyd etc)
-music with little to no vocals (Joe Hisashi, Chillhop, Nujabes etc
-foreign music as the meaning of the lyrics wont distract me (kpop, anime ost etc)
-sometimes movie ost (guardians of the galaxy, deadpool)

      How about all of you?

I like to listen to music that fits the theme of what i am drawing.

If i am drawing a character from a video game , i will listen to music from that game.

One drawing i remember well was an Ancient Egyptian scene.
I listened to ancient Egyptian themed music for about a month

Other than that , Classic Rock and Roll always works a charm

This is a brilliant answer. I have also done the same thing. When working on a cyberpunk graphic novel I would often listen to the soundtrack of Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell

That's really interesting, i should try out some of this, yeah classic rock is always a good go to option

I either don't listen to music or sometime I listen to nature music I know sounds strange but it's kinda soothing and inspiring I like to draw animals and such.

Re: What music do you listen to when you're being drawing or writing?

I tend to listen to various things. Often it's my usual playlist on Spotify. (I keep meaning to make playlists for moods/ uses, but end up just adding everything to 1 or 2 lists, then skipping half the list xD) Sometimes I try to listen to themed stuff if it would relate. Though I do try and keep it similar regardless - I.e if it's chillout stuff, then try and avoid metal or rock, especially if I'm trying to write, as the sudden difference throws off my train of thought.

I kind of understand this, sometimes I used to recordings of heavy rains, storms and meditation music, something that isn't too distracting. Love to see some of your animal drawings

I get this also, i really need to get off my arse and make some playlists so i dont waste so much time trying to find and decide what music i fancy for drawing.

Does anyone have shows that they put on in the background?

It depends on how I feel in honesty depending on what I use to help me write but I remember one piece of work while writing it I used Pain by three days grace and this other piece I wrote I used Dancing on my own by Calum Scott.

I like a mix of music so it really varies.

Very true, I need to build up a mix of playlists for those special moods.

I often have trouble trying to decide what music will be most appropriate for what i'm working on.

Sometimes I draw what come to mind and sometimes music gives me ideas, or something from a book.
