      Overlord II discussion thread

      Besides @Tanya Degurechaff , @Gaidin , and @drill , who's watching?

I have some mixed feelings about how this is being handled so far. I wasn't sure the point of the story focusing so much on the lizard men so far, but having watched episode 5, it's not bad. I do wonder that 5 episodes were spent on something they clearly set up as a side plot.

Still good though. I liked this little lizard men subplot, but (ep5)
        Spoiler:
at the same time I hope it's over so we can get onto more interesting things.
I anticipate this season being good in general since the last one set up a really good premise for it.

      I don't like the OP.

I believe its caution because he encountered the power of a world level item.

He wants to proceed cautiously further hes interested in how his comrades creations are developing.

Though I believe other developments will now start or continue should I say.

Edit: should I be using spoilers?

@Tanya Degurechaff Well I didn't mark the thread to be spoilers, but I suppose for a discussion thread maybe I should. Hmm.

I get why Ains would want to be cautious--it's not the story itself that's odd to me, it's more like its presentation as a story that makes the choice of focusing on lizard men for so long a bit strange to me.

      Ep 6:

I kinda feel like there's too many characters in this story. I can't remember them and then when they do a scene it's like who the hell are these people, now?

But I do feel like this arc will be interesting.

Also I wouldn't mind Sebas pampering me >_>

      lol

I think I’ll pass on Solution being involved though.

        Spoiler:
Looks like the underground syndicate is going to be the next spotlight.

Though I’m not sure why Brain and whoever that other guy is got screen time. Seems as useless as the princess, king, dragon, lords, old adventures, and the Slane Theocracy scenes were at the beginning of season 2. I suppose all of them have a place in the unfolding plot. Though it seems it’s setting up the Slane Theocracy to be a major opponent and perhaps the dragon and old adventurer as the continuous masterminds that as I’m sure they are the reason world level items exist.

I don't even remember who Theology is.

This not remember characters is my problem isn't it? >_>

Sorry, I meant the Slane Theocracy, the country, not Theology.

The ones in season 1 that had angels fighting on their side.

      Oh. Yeah I remember them.

You could have told me all about Theology and I'd have believed you though.

      Re: Overlord II discussion thread

At first I thought the whole episode was going to be kinda dull--I feel like there's too many characters in this show.

But this Sebas situation might be interesting.

I am sort of enjoying it lol I guess it's just the change of pace from what I've been watching.

      lol me too

Though there was a lot of plot buildup.

Though, I am not sure why they spent so much time on Clumb’s lack of Talents.

      Re: Overlord II discussion thread

Just finished binging the second season yesterday.

        Spoiler:
Definitely agree with Momo that the OP really isn't that good, especially when you compare it to season 1's OP. Honestly, I don't really like how it focused so much on the lizard men, but i see why they chose to do so. It was kinda interesting to see Ains' party set up as the antagonists in this arc really. Either way, I just hope they focus more on Ains now that the lizard men arc is over. Also, seems that Solution is going to betray the party and set up Sebas (except that i dont think Ains is going to be that easily fooled, plus Sebas mentioned there were only 46 or so beings that could beat him in a fight, so he's easily at guardian level strength). I do wonder if we'll be seeing any of Pandora's Actor this season as well.

I don’t believe Solution or Sebas has betrayed anyone. They both simply have different ideas on what it means to serve Ains.

        Spoiler:
Perhaps, but I was thinking it would tie well into the part of him learning that each of them could change, and Ains bringing up in his thoughts that there wasn't the certainty of complete loyalty anymore.

Perhaps it is something certainly to ponder.

It seems some hooks are laid out only to be used later.

A little more is being told about Climb now. I wonder, truly, will he surpass the so called limitations everyone seems to believe is written in stone?
