I'm planning the first upload of Chapter 2 of my webcomic.

I've taken a perusal of the last few pages, and you've got a great grasp of the fundamental skills and working from reference. I could personally only offer a small amount of advice, but it'd just boil down to "keep practicing."

You're doing great.

I assume the setting is a water based environment, seeing how your "Hero" has a built in flotation device, and your "creature" has dorsal spines connected by a frill which make it great for swimming. A great guess! You aren't far off. The current main setting is "Coast City," a fictional East-Coast...
