We shall be relaunching Animeleague Radio on Sunday 6th March! The launch show will happen at 6pm through to 10pm as a radio launch special! The radio newly relaunched will work in conjunction with our chatroom to help entertain and bring the Animeleague community, both the hardcore and casual, together!

We're looking for aspiring DJs to run weekly and fortnightly shows. If you're interested in coming aboard our radio team, then please email info@animeleague.com with -

    Name of Show:
Description of Show and what it'll entail: And the audience/crowd/genre you're targetting
Public Description: No more than two sentences to sell the show to the public.
Weekly or Fortnightly Shows: There are 4 Weekly Show spots and 4 Fortnightly Show spots.
Preferred Days for Show: Give multiple days, be as flexible as possible.
Length of Show: Minimum is 2hrs, Maximum is 4hrs

Shows run every evening anytime from 6pm up until 10pm. Standard show time is 8pm to 10pm GMT. All other times are from our generic playlist and are not DJs.

    1. To be involved and active in the chatroom during the times of your show. Users will be able to make requests in there.
    2. You're running a show - not just a setlist - we could do that ourselves from our own library. This means that while some of your show can be you playing your own music (up to 50%), the other 50% should involve you talking, interacting and taking requests.
    3. We will sometimes allow pre-recorded shows, but not always - it will depend on your show.
    4. We ask you to record your show (we will provide you with the tools to do this) so that it can be repeated one week later and be added to our podcast library.
    5. Stick to your committed times. If for any reason you feel you may not be able to make your live show, then please submit a pre-recorded show for us to use in your absence. The first time you miss a show without good reason, or pre-submitting, you will be warned - the second time you will be removed.

    1. Experience of DJing to an awesome community and getting more involved.
    2. You can express your passion and interests on air.
    3. You can use this as an opportunity to build your DJ profile.
    4. All DJs will be made assistants and will be put up for the possibility of modding.

We have lost someone very dear and important to us. Earlier this week our head of press and guests Becca Moriarty was found tragically passed away after having an epileptic seizure in her flat. Becca was just 24 years of age and had her entire life in front of her - what happened was devastatingly without reason and utterly unexpected.

As a community we must come together and be strong. It is the only way that we can handle this devastating loss. London Anime & Gaming Con is next weekend, where most of Becca's friends and colleagues will be attending. We would like to address what we shall be doing -

We would like to talk about this first at our Opening Ceremony on the Friday at 7pm. While not everyone knew Becca, we feel it is important the event as a whole knows what has happened, which is very important. A book will then be put out at the registrations desk that anyone who knew Becca can write in and express their thoughts, memories and sorrows which we will give to her family.

On the Sunday, we will be holding a private Memorial Service in the downstairs backroom (the anime that is normally shown there will be cancelled). This will take place at Sunday 1pm and last for about an hour, possibly longer. Anyone who knew or who was friends with Becca is invited. We would like this to be a space for people to express their feelings and thoughts and to pay tribute to her memory.

Everyone mourns in their own way, but we request that it is done with respect for Becca's wishes. Becca would not have wanted people to have let what has happened spoil people's time and enjoyment. She would want everyone to enjoy the event and for mourning to be with a calm-dignified sadness and sorrow, not with despair. Some people will understandably struggle, but we will try our best to help them through this so that this is done the way Becca would have wanted.

Epilepsy is a terrible condition, with over 600,000 people in the UK alone suffering from it. For 2016 our official charity for all of our conventions, including Alcon will be Epilepsy Action. We would like to try and raise as much money as possible toward this to honour Becca's memory, as well as help make future tragedies less likely. If you wish to donate in the meantime you can do so here.

Becca is forever in our thoughts. She was someone who was genuinely selfless and wanted to help everyone. She added heart, kindness, empathy and loyalty to a community and to a world that desperately needs it. She changed many of us for the better. We will do what we can to honour her memory, to celebrate the good times, and to carry on what she stood for.

    We will never forget her.

What we're going to say will be deeply tragic and upsetting to those who are not yet aware. Earlier this week our staff member and head of press and guests, Becca Moriarty was found passed away after having a seizure in her flat. She suffered from epilepsy and it was a completely unexpected tragedy.

Becca was a friend to many of us. She was one of those people who was genuinely selfless and wanted to help others. She added heart, kindness, empathy and loyalty to a community and to a world that desperately needs it. She changed many of us for the better.

We will be putting out some words tomorrow, but in the meantime we urge people to donate to Becca's favoured charity which she worked toward fundraising for in the past, Epilepsy Action - https://www.epilepsy.org.uk/involved/donations Thank you.
