I could bring Card Captor Sakura if people wanted but I don't know much about lisence stuff. I have both seasons in Japanese with English subs.

Putting it simply the way that licencing works is that a UK company has to hold the distribution rights and agree to their stuff being shown.
If it's available on DVD it's probably okay, if not it usually isn't.

Anyway if it's do-able Ponyo, in sub, on as big a screen as possible would be awesome. The lecture theatre where Little Kuriboh did his panel last year would be a good place to do it.

Beyond that I'd just like to request that language decisions be taken beforehand and published in the planner. I can understand that when it comes to stuff like the breakfast clubs dub is really the only practical option (although I'd be tempted to go with raw, just so everybody has the same handicap regardless of where they're sat), but if everybody knows that's what's happening it'll at least mean nobody is disappointed. Also having, say, running one sub room and one dub room would be good so that any given time people have something that they can go watch in their language of choice.

We don't need people to bring DVDs

The companies we get the licenses from send us screeners of the titles of theirs they offer us licences for that we request (since obviously they can offer far more than we could possibly show) - this thread is just for people to suggest things they'd like, we'll no doubt have a proper picking thread at some point in the future once we know what we'll have licences for. ^^
