Apologies for not updating in some time - the last few months have been extremely busy. Anyway, a lot of links on the site are outdated. Over the next week, the following will be revised - - Introduction/Guidebook. A more in depth one is required, and this shall be written up. - Staff Information. Almost done in fact, this will contain a wealth of information on our staff, how it is run, and how you can apply. - Anime Reviews. We will be looking into revamping how these are laid out. - Archive. Over six years, AL has a treasurer trove of past info. I will be putting some of this up, including news items, downloads and so forth. Currently it's pointing to the Old Legacy link. Other changes - - Team Animeleague will shortly be launched. Currently the link on the mainsite simply points back at here. However, I can confirm that we will be formally launching on Sunday 18th May. - We will be sorting out our community sites (ie: our myspace, facebook and livejournal) and promoting them a...

Happy Birthday AL! It was on the 24th February 2002 that Animeleague was first made. Yes, we are six years old today! In case you have not noticed, we have been celebrating this for the last few weeks with several special events that have been ongoing. You can go read up on them here. ^_^ Meanwhile, I have put together a special list of twenty facts about Animeleague and it's history! Want to know a bit of trivia about this place? Read on! Did you know...? 1. That we have played numerous April Fools jokes in the past. These have included changing all of the word censors so that you became u, are became r and your became ur. We also once changed the domain name to http://www.happybunnyleague.net 2. The AL Journals forum was originally opposed by a strong majority of staff on the grounds that it would create drama. This caused it almost not to be made. Even then it was made originally with a usergrou...

Note! If you'd be interested in representing or being a part of Team AL, then post in here! What is Team Animeleague For? Team Animeleague (Team AL for short) is all about promoting ourselves at conventions in the UK and US, encouraging more AL meets to happen, bringing people into the AL-fold and more than anything about having fun! It will also form the basis of future AL merchandise. Team AL t-shirts are being designed at this moment (I will post a preview of them shortly) and will very soon be available to order. Show your membership of AL at conventions, folk, and help us establish more of a presence in the anime community! Additionally, we will be giving away FREE pin-badges/buttons to ALL Animeleague members who attend conventions/meets and agree to help Team AL out! All it needs from you is to help spread word about AL by simple word-of-mouth to those you meet! Nothing more! But make sure to hold onto that badge, since it's proof that you're a part of Team AL. How will ...

We are delighted to announce our official affiliation with Animetion. The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted the Animetion forum in the Community Central section. Please do use this, and make sure to check their site out on http://www.animetion.co.uk ! What are Animetion? They are a UK Based Anime & Manga website, with availability guides, information, reviews, images galore, odd stuff and more. They are an up and coming website, and are becoming increasingly more popular and well-known with many and numerous contacts in the anime industry. Run by Tom (DrownedPanda) and Rich (Riccardinho), who are incidentally very cool guys, this is a site that are going serious places, and offer a genuinely interesting and thoughtful take on the general anime scene. To the non-UK folk out there, they are definately still worth checking out, since they focus on anime issues that affect the entire-world as a who...

Hi guys, just back from the AL New Years meetup in London. We had about 35 ALers attending, so it was quite a blast! Something Old. It's hard to think that last year we - - Moved from phpbb2 to phpbb3, pretty much resetting the entire board in the process and starting afresh. - Moved servers! All our speed and unrealiability issues finally went bye-bye with that change. - Started up Alcon, Animeleague's official convention. A total of 202 people attended the event in September, and the 2008 event is expected to attract even more. In many ways our site is growing up and developing. However, don't expect this to stop. If anything in 2008 it is going to speed up quite dramatically.. And Something New. Here's our top ten big things to watch out for in 2008 - 1. The AL Radio relaunching. Enough said really, this one is overdue. We also plan to produce podcasts and generally try to expand our media efforts here. We are hoping to find some partners who can assist with the AL Radio (a...

The eagle-eyed amongst you will note that the AL mainsite has undergone a number of changes. No more random crap from Community Central showing up on the main-site. In the future we aim to make news items interesting to read, genuinely informative, and maybe even witty (Gasp!) Failing that we'll go for just interesting. I plan to write (on average) one new article a week. The format of my postings will be more of a blog format in that it will invite debate and discussion, and not merely inform. Usually I will ask everyone a question of the week to discuss. Sometimes it will include a poll to gauge general opinion, other times it will not. We will also do other articles. These may include member profiles, community observations or reports, humourous articles or parodies, and so forth. This week's question of the week is - What do you think of this new format for the mainsite? Is it an improvement? Will it encourage you to check out the mainsite more often in the future to read up t...
