      He looked at the knife he was offering. So that was it, huh? Just a few drops of his blood and everything would be done... He was determined to do it. "If you don't mind, I'll use my own knife..." He said with a faint smile as he pulled out his hunting knife from his bag. That knife had just been his trusty companion ever since he went to try his luck in the wilderness, it only felt fitting that it was this knife the one that sealed the bond. "Not that I don't trust you or anything, but I would just like it better with my knife." He sadi as he sat down beside the counter.

      As he heard the man's offering for food he thought for a while... It had been a long time since he had city food, and he didn't know what could possibly be a good thing to get. "Just something edible, whatever seems good...Thanks." He wasn't really picky about food, since when he began to survive in the wilderness he ate all sorts of things, from crickets to centipedes, so how bad could the food from the city be?

      He felt his heart racing as he placed his knife against his index finger. He was anxious for some bizarre reason, which he couldn't quite grasp. He sliced the finger quickly and blood started to flow slowly from the cut. With a slight tremble in his hand he placed his finger over the lizard's mouth. One drop of blood formed on the tip of his finger... Then it fell inside it's mouth.

      Suddenly the lizard's eyes sprung open and he quickly bit down on the man's finger. He felt the pain of it's fingers digging into his flesh but didn't move as a little sigh escaped his lips. He could feel it sucking on the wound, drawing more blood. He focused his mind and just thought to himself "Come on buddy, drink as much as you need, I want to be your companion, so let me bind my soul with yours... I accept you." His breathing became heavy and he could feel his body growing cold for some bizarre reason, as it was a rather hot day. "It's okay buddy, use my energy to heal yourself back to normal..." He said.

      Leah thought about it some and said, "Where else, but the mall! They always have everything there, no matter how cheap or expensive it is." Leah then makes a call and then outside a nice sedan pulls up and a man gets out leaving the car there and walking away. "There is our ride, come on lets get going." She grabs Yuli's hand and drags her to it, they get in and off they go.

      Kyle shrugged as the boy simply said bring him back something delicious, going outside and looking for a food shop. He happened to see the girls he left in the restaurant before, forcing himself to focus at the task at hand. He had just entered the shop when he heard Ronda's report in his ear from the HUD, rubbing his forehead as he picked out some cuts of meat and something that appeared to be some kind of fish. After he purchased the items, he took them back to Baab and the boy. He placed the bags on the table, looking to the shop keeper before making his way to the exit.

      "Military fighting aliens in space while putting up a new satellite, heading up there to ensure you can see your TV tonight, be back as soon as they are slagged, i didn't know what he wanted so i bought one of... well everything..."

      Stark stepped outside, armoring up as he ran past a car he did not know contained the same two girls from earlier. He ignited his boosters, speeding to join Ronda in the space battle.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~
      Ronda was aiding the military in their fight against the alien scouts, knowing full well that there had to be a warrior class somewhere nearby. She easily dispatched the scouts, covering the military as their ship began to position the new satellite. The only reason the satellite was being replaced so fast was because it was the military's video communications satellite. Just as the satellite was put into orbit, Ronda got a blip on her HUD. As she turned to investigate the reading, she saw what she was dreading, the warrior class alien.
      "Kyle, you better hurry, crap just hit the fan up here and I will be needing back up!"
      Ronda opened her shoulder rockets, firing a steady barrage to keep the alien at bay. The gatling gun made sure that she kept it away form the satellite, though she knew that it was only a matter of time before she would have to reload her weapons.
      Baab leaned against the counter and watched the little guy's bonding. Using his own knife was a nice touch. The whole ritual was about symbols, so why not use an item one of them, if not both already had a connection to. The wait for the ritual was still unpleasant. Perhaps it was a natural occurrence for the lizard and its kin, but for Baab not. He accepted their ways and the fact that the boy decided to to the bond willingly, but it didn't mean the shopkeeper had full trust in things he never saw before and couldn't possibly understand.
      Was the bonding going as it should? How could the naked eye tell? And most importantly how could one tell that something was wrong and how would one stop it? Baab had none of the answers. The only reason he told the boy was, because he seemed so willing. But now, that the deed was in motion, the shopkeeper started second guessing his decision... Hopefully, all will be well...
      Food came. And before anything could be, the rich guy was gone again. Satellites are being attacked again, huh?
      "Looks like I should prolly order some DVDs for tonight just in case..."
      The cup was placed on the saucer with a gentle 'klink' and a quick glance towards the clock in the shop confirmed she had relaxed for close to two hours. Not sure what she wanted to do, she fished some coins out of her pocket and slipped it next to the cup before standing and heading out of the shop.
      Outside, she came to a halt, her gaze surveying the shops in the village. 'Shopping or rest?' she thought to herself.
      Her hand moved to her stomach and groaned at how full she felt. She drank far too much tea, yet couldn't help but let a smile escape from her lips. Dropping her hand, she reached up and adjusted the strap on her shoulder that held the rug-sack. To the locals she seemed like a typical traveller, but was also conservatively dressed as she didn't want to draw attention to herself.
      A minute later with her mind made up, she slowly started to make her way towards the outskirts of the village in search of a quiet Inn or guest-house. She viewed a young couple walk in her direction and briefly stopped to ask them directions and recommendations. They smiled and made some small talk before pointing her in the direction of a nice Inn who had a few rooms for rent upstairs on a short term or long term basis.
      Thanking them with a bright smile, she walked until she found the place.
      Standing outside of the place several minutes later, she quickly glanced at the sign, noticing the name, 'Suiren' inscribed deeply into some old and weathered wooden log. Not thinking much of the name, she merely entered the establishment.
      Inside was much darker than she anticipated, but was adequately lit in select areas of the interior that gave the place a soft, but diffused glow to it. It was clean and relaxing and the locals were laughing and talking, while others were drinking in silence. There were more men and not many women around, but this didn't bother her. She was used to places being frequented by male patrons.
      To one side was a grand staircase that led up to the rooms, she guessed, and beyond the tables and chairs were the bar where a woman stood serving some people. She was elegantly dressed that showed she took care of herself pretty good. Her smile was charming and her black hair was tied up in a simple bun at the back of her head. She caught Maiya's eyes and before she understood why, she was standing at the counter, looking the woman in the eyes.
      It wasn't often that she would be pulled in by someone's smile, but the feeling she got from this woman indicated that she was genuinely pleased to see her. No hidden malice or reservations like some other people Maiya had come across in the past. It was a refreshing change and before she knew it, she ordered herself a soft drink and started to enquire about how much it would cost her to rent a room for a night or longer.
      They haggled back and forth and it wasn't long before they both smiled triumphantly, having satisfied themselves with obtaining what they wanted from each other. She reached into her rugsack and retrieved some notes before handing it to the innkeeper. She was given a key to her and room that was small and fit perfectly into the palm of her hand. She clutched it tightly and followed the directions to her room.
      As predicted, she had to walk up the staircase and later found herself in the small room. It had a comfortable bed, a chair and some extra furniture and basic utensils along with the facilities to make herself some tea or drinks if she wished it. Throwing her rug-sack in the corner near the chair, she plopped down on the bed. Within a few minutes, she was fast asleep- but not before setting her watch to wake her up in a few hours.
      Her last thoughts were of the inn downstairs and how she was looking forward to relaxing down there later with a drink.
