I wasnt worried about not being good enough (though Ill check out that thread for sure =D)

Ive got joint issues with my wrist and shoulder that make colouring and tracing on my graphics tablet far too painful to do at the moment, which is why most of my recent stuff is uncoloured. Oddly it doesnt affect me anywhere near as much while sketching on paper though. Maybe because Im moving the pencil with my fingers instead of my wrist perhaps, but Im not sure. It comes and goes though, so there may be a day or two where I can work on it digitally soon. On the plus side, it is slowly getting better, but not just fast enough for my liking =p

I was searching for something on my terribly organised HDD and came across this and I figured I post here seeing as I mentioned it the other day


Obviously just a WIP at the moment that I havent worked on in several months. I may get around to actually finishing this at some point, though I should stress the 'may'

Currently its just the base colours and some gradient added to the floor and sky, and I think I also shaded half of a glove at one point too, but that doesnt seem to be there.

Im honestly not that happy with how this looks right now, though that may be due to it just being flat colour. That said, Im thinking the line art may be too thick, and the background may be detracting from the image overall, rather than adding to it

I gotta say one thing here, I LOVE the detail you put into your drawings ^_^ (seriously, I know it's fanart, but the detail on the Lightning pic is great ^_^)

But I'd like to see some OC's of yours (besides the band, which I'm assuming was made on one of the music games so it's technically still fanart ^_^)

Oh and incase you aren't sure, OC = Original Character ^_^

Seriously, with your attention to detail I bet you could get something interesting ^_

Designing an OC or two was always something I planned on doing, but somehow never got around to. I may try and make that the next thing I work on if I dont get distracted again =p

I prefer working on A4 because its less of a pain to move around, but I need the extra space on the A3 =p

I was struggling to make a start on an OC because I was completely stuck for ideas, so I did this instead

Took about 4 hours overall. Mainly did it to practice shading with pencils (which I obviously still need to work on) and also recreating an image (this to be precise) using grid lines. I also figured it might be good practice for drawing in anime/manga style in general

I do really like your base colours in first pic, i think you did it great, i would really like to see it finished but take your time, it looks great so far, impressive!

As for Rukia just WOW looks like Kubo did it!! i think is a quite hard character to draw, but you did an awsome fanart. I also think doing that sorts of pic help you gain more knowledge about how to caracterize a character, so good idea!
