textures textures, use them. flat colours are evil x] nice work on pencil pics ;] they look somewhat better than your digital ones. can you see why? more detail, more lines, more everything in them ;]

Yeah, my digital art needs a lot of work still. When I get myself back into a position where I can use my tablet properly again, Im planning on using Heartlesses classroom thread to try and improve myself a lot And yeah, I agree my pencil work is better, I find it a far more natural way of drawing than using a tablet. Plus I have far more experience with it =p

forrrrr example this http://youtu.be/xldrl3kl-aw but thats really pro way of doing things, when youre able to see where its going. i rarely do it, too big of a mess. for the most part i just meant use hard brushes and crude lines as a base, create some sort of shape. then just draw on top of it, softening that shape

XD lol. okay let me put it like this. the thing is, whatever you do, DONT start with the soft brush -> http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&se...nding#/d1i55ag <- like here, in the end result you see these tiiiiny almost invisible strokes. but you CAN see them ;] and thats whole trick to giving texture to a picture x]

First off, another gridline practice thing. Did this one mainly to try and get my head around line weighting (and because Phantom Miria is cool) And this one, is finally a most likely final design of my OC (who still hasnt got a name) in another different setting. Figured WW1 would be easier because I dont have to make that up seeing as it happened 95ish years ago Not an amazing piece, but I just wanted to get her design down on paper properly. Ill eventually get around to doing a general full body sketch focusing more on her overall design than the setting, as well as doing the same thing for the other OC idea I have. I was originally going to add him to the above sketch, but decided against it on the basis that Id probably have ruined the whole thing if Id attempted to draw a slightly demonic looking guy in a pinstripe suit. Anyway... Ill probably do another gridline thing next because I am finding them very helpful, even if they arent the most original of things Also as a side note, that flag was so much harder to draw than I expected
