Hey, you did better there than a lot of people. Most of the time I post a critique and the writer gets disheartened and is never heard from again. Your answers do make sense, any or all of them could be applied. Though with the humans wanting an infected Mirian you keep digging this hole that makes the humans the bad guys.

Yes that was in intent. Not so much all humans being evil, more the council taking advantage of the fear the infection caused in order to have complete control. The council, by far, is evil. The humans are just misguided and blinded by fear.

Artist is good!
@explodingdragon Ive given the point you raised some thought, and come up with a solution, hopefully one that works. With Li on the battlefield it makes him not only a deterant against the mirians joining the demons, but it also acts as an incentive for the mirians to join the humans. This would lead to Lis father asking his son to be strong, to rise up above this and become a great warrior to ensure that he would not die on that battlefield, for if the mirian prince died then even the peace loving mirians would demand vengence. Revenge would lead to war, the very thing they wish to avoid? 'strength makes the people, but war destroys the species.' This not only covers why li is on the battlefield, but also why he works so hard for the people that basically hold him prisoner.
An interesting notion. It could work. Combined with the council wanting an infected mirian for research, it's a win-win for them. You'll have to have a scene where they talk this out though, for the benefit of the reader.
