Re: do you believe in ghosts?

I think my mom's car is possessed. Haunted has a negative connotation like someone is out to get me. Possessed more accurately describes the strange shit that happens to people when they get in her car.

My mom's been dead almost a decade now. I kept her car. I refuse to let anyone take it/junk it/sell it/reduce it to scrap metal/etc.
Over the years though strange shit has happened to me whenever I got in that car.

The time I was running short on cash to pay bills, I sat in my mom's car on the verge of crying something fierce when magically outta nowhere I see a 20 dollar bill. I know for a fact that bill had not been there before. But the moment I grabbed the bill, a bunch of other strange shit happened. Like suddenly, one of my student's parents came across some money and was able to pay me with money instead of food. Same day, I went to work and made 500 dollars in tips in my first hour.

There was the time the car wouldn't start, making me super later for some place I had to go. Well. I was late but the meeting had been cancelled because the person who called it had fallen ill (nothing serious).

The time I got lost on my way to no man's land and the car started communicating with me. Like it felt like the car was trying to tell me something because it was giving me all kinds of trouble with the turn signals. So I started going in the direction it was trying tot ake me and I ended up at my Dad's House. And it was weird. I had no intention of seeing my dad but when I got there my dad was lucid and suddenly had this urge to talk to me about mom. And had I no gotten there when I had he would've called me.

There was the time I was pissed as shit at my stepbrother and went to go sit in mom's car to think. When I was ready to go back in the house I went in the back seat to grab my bag and magically mom's favorite baseball bat materialized out of nowhere. I am convinced that mom was watching over me and was trying to tell me it was ok to beat the shit out of my stepbrother.

There was the time I got into an argument with a boyfriend and the car radios tarted acting funny. Funny as in every song on the radio was about heart ache. On every single station.

There was the time, me and my husband got into an argument about the car. Namely that he thought I should get rid of it because it was old and a hazard on wheels. So we both got in the car so I could prove to him that it can be driven and out of nowhere a recipe for one of his favorite foods that his mom used to make popped out of the glove compartment. It was weird as fuck.

And then there were the time I was going out with the intention of getting laid and suddenly the car turned into condoms galore. I always took this as a sign that I was making an 'ok' decision in sleeping with someone if I did find condoms. If I didn't find a condom in the car, they weren't getting laid that night. Otherwise Mom would've given me some kinda sign.

There was the time brakes stopped working. Ok. They did work. They just weren't working properly. I really had to step on it to brake. Later that night when I got home, I turned on the news and found out that when I was having brake problems, further down the route I was traveling there had been a really bad traffic accident.

There was the time I broke up with a guy though because of what the car told me. I needed some kinda sign that it was ok to break up with a really great guy. I searched that car top to bottom for any kind of sign. The only thing I found out of place was the underwear from that time I was in a rush to get back home from a certain guy's place. And just seeing them reminded me that they guy I was about to break up with...really wasn't for me. And I know for a fact those underwear had not been in the car. Or at least they shouldn't have been.

Over the years other strange shit has happened to me while in that car. Freaky strange shit.

I know for a fact that car is possessed. But seriously it is an accident waiting to happen. I wonder if faith alone is the reason I've never had an accident in it as of yet.

Re: do you believe in ghosts?

Well if any of you on here who have talked to me you might know i like railways i am a train geek. Well while looking into ghost sightings and stories i found there are a few involving the railways. The main ones that have taken my atention are about signal boxes and the underground

Until recently signalboxes covered the british rail network where they watched over junctions, crossings and stations and they were in remote locations aswell. They had to be open at all hours throughout the year so can you imagine yourself standing in a signalbox in the middle of a cold moonlit night watching for a train to come through your section and it is just you alone in there. A signalman had to stay alert and understand whats going on with the rail traffic and around them. There are a few stories like at the signal box at bradley fold west where a terrifying scream is sometimes heard in the night and a prone figure lies on the track to slowly disappear before you approach. There is the story at entwhistle of a small boy seen plaing in a field opposite the level crossing twenty years after he was hit by a train. And then theres the spectre of a signalman seen to get halfway across the track then vanosh from sight. Another story concerns of a signalman who died while on the job but still returns to work everynight. My favourite story concerns the great central railway just north of rothley station. During the war a man kept some animals in a field on the other side of the track. There was a footpath under a bridge to get there but because it got muddy he would instead wait till the signalman at swithland wasnt looking then cross the track with his dog. Well eventually his luck ran out as both him and his dog was ran over but to this day if you look from the platform at rothley you might see him.

The other group of stories concerns the london underground and nearly every station open or abandoned has a ghost story. Bank station is supposed to be haunted by an old lady who wears black and looks like a nun. The Elephant and Castle is haunted by an invisible spectre who runs through the station after everyone has gone home. The old station under the british museum is haunted supposedly by an old egyptian pharoah. But the main ghost that has been seen is an actor who was murdered near covent garden and is sometimes seen in the station.

To be honest alot of ghost stories can be classed as bunk but in the case of signalmen who had differant shift patterns to each other it is hard to say

i do believe in ghosts, actually. i've never personally seen one, but i would love to. i'm always watching tv shows about ghosts and ghost hunting and it seems really neat. a friend of mine who i worked with was in a paranormal society for a while, and she has told me stories about her current place of residence. the other day bagels flew off of the fridge and across the kitchen.

      i also believe in aliens.

Re: do you believe in ghosts?

Well i have had a few strange experience but im not sure if you can put them down to ghost activity.

I was sitting in the livingroom with my brother and mum watching tv and at the time we had a windchime in the middle of the room just for show that was crystal. All the windows were closed and there was no draft coming through, first we got a strong smell of perfume lingering in the room before the windchime began to spin slowly, as the smell got stronger the windchime span that fast it tied itself up in a huge knot. Once it stop moving almost instantly the smell of perfume had dissapeared.

That was the first weird experience that could have been ghost related..the perfume we smelt, my said was the same my gran always used to wear. She died the year before this happend.

Second weird thing was acctually with one of my daughters toys, my it rest in pieces now.

I was sitting playing the xbox late on at night about 1am, when i heard my daughters rocking doll start singing and moving, at first i just thought someone had forgot to turn it off and it go nudged maybe by another toy in the toy box. I got up and turned it off and paced it down infront of the toy box and went back to playing my game, about five minutes later the doll started singing and rocking again, i was confused and got up to check it and it was still switched off, i took the batteries out and put it back down, going again back to my again...then 10 minutes later the doll went off again..to say the least i freaked out, it was turned off and had no batteries yet it still played by itself. Easy to say i destroyed that toy and threw it out the back, luckily my daughter hasnt asked about it.

Last but not least, the room me and my daughter sleep in used to be another little girls room..but when my parents moved it they said there was a bolt on the outside of the bedroom door, which we shrugged off...since my daughter had been able to speak..you can hear her up in her bedroom talking to someone, she only five and doesnt know what that room used to be but she came down stairs one time and i asked her who she was talking to...her only response was "the little girl in my room".

Might just be bad luck for my house but yeah..that is some of the strangest experiences...most common is hearing clear footstep going up and down the stairs at night that seem to dissapear at the top or bottom of the stairs.

      There...done.

Re: do you believe in ghosts?

Thanks for the post Kairi alot of people would rather keep quiet of any hauntings in their own houses. In america a haunting can actually bring down the house price on a property.

This is a story I read which reeks of something ghastly. A premonition of a railway disaster struck as a woman was crossing a railway bridge. It was 1952 and Betty Gayler was returning home from a day out with two friends. It was midnight and they were crossing the bridge at Harrow and Wealdstone Station. There were very few people at that time of night and the station seemed very ghostly. As they crossed Betty suddenly felt a terrible panic and grabbed her two friends and ran. When they asked her what was wrong she replied "I smell death". Two days later, on 8 October 1952, one of the worst railway disasters in history happened at the bridge. Two trains crashed in the fog and a third ploughed ploughed into the wreckage. There were 112 dead and 152 injured.

post 666 this one feel evil so gonna talk about Black Shuck. Black Shuck is an evil spirit thats from east anglia which takes the form of a large black dog. The dog's appearance bodes ill to the beholder - for example in the Maldon and Dengie area of Essex, the most southerly point of sightings, where seeing Black Shuck means the observer's almost immediate death. However, more often than not, stories tell of Black Shuck terrifying his victims, but leaving them alone to continue living normal lives; in some cases it has supposedly happened before close relatives to the observer die or become ill.

One of the most notable reports of Black Shuck is of his appearance at the churches of Bungay and Blythburgh in Suffolk. On 4 August 1577, at Blythburgh, Black Shuck is said to have burst in through the church doors to a clap of thunder. He ran up the nave, past a large congregation, killing a man and boy and causing the church steeple to collapse through the roof. As the dog left, he left scorch marks on the north door which can be seen at the church to this day.

The encounter on the same day at Bungay was described in A Straunge and Terrible Wunder by the Reverend Abraham Fleming in 1577:

"This black dog, or the divel in such a linenesse (God hee knoweth al who worketh all,) running all along down the body of the church with great swiftnesse, and incredible haste, among the people, in a visible fourm and shape, passed between two persons, as they were kneeling uppon their knees, and occupied in prayer as it seemed, wrung the necks of them bothe at one instant clene backward, in so much that even at a moment where they kneeled, they strangely died."

That's a common story to hear. There are plenty of stories of seeing movement in the corner of our eyes in the dark or in an old building.
