ah, fencing tomorrow. though being eliminated from the tournament I'll only be directing. but it's a chance to work on my directing. was going to take a class at my college to get certified as a fencing ref. but it cost 70 dollars

Parents are out so just giving a quick update.

1: On the parents and me dating issue. Oh they're already giving me hell, it's that I honestly have stopped caring about their opinions on my friends and people and hobbies awhile ago. You should hear my dad whenever he walks into the living room and finds that I was watching anime while they were out of the house.

2: As for the AP exam it's a lost cause. I'm 4 projects behind. Between flying, work, other school work and life AP drawing kinda fell between the cracks. I'm not happy, but in all honesty about 50% of the people who take the class end up needing a second year to finish their portfolio anyway. 2 of my friends who are amazing artists both had to do just that. I may be a senior and not have that as an option but I wish my parents would just realize I can't finish 4 college level pieces of art in 2 weeks...hell with the deadline she gave for people participating i actually only have 1. I'm gad I took this class though. I love art, but this has made me realize that if I'm FORCED to do it (EG: a job in art or majoring in it) I end up hating it. So for me it'll just be a hobby.

On a more relaxed note joined up in Zach's D&D group last Friday and made a monk for the first time ever. Coolest....start...ever. After waking up next to my new party bound in a cell and finding that our captors left none of us clothed we rolled and found that half elves are not well hung in the least, afterwards we hit up a nearby town. Since I was broke I tried performing on a street corner, unfortunately I pissed off 3 guys walking by and they tried to mug me. After 12 seconds I had 3 muggers dead around me, I was 650 gold pieces richer, and I had just counter mugged 3 guys. Yep...felt like a boss

I'm not sure if this is a cultural thing on a generational thing. Where kids don't take into consideration what their parents think is correct. Even if the parents are a bit of a wing nut.
I had to wash a house top to bottom including tending to the garden and was bitch slapped for finding a loophole in one of my Granny's rules. I didn't encessarily agree with her rules and I was well aware of the fact that she was bat shit bonkers. But I still listened to her. (There was absolutely nothing I could get past that woman. Trying to sneak around/out/ or pull a fast one was simply not an option. She would find out and the shit would hit the fan)
I missed curfew one time and she changed the locks on me.

My Dad never approved of me dating until it became convenient for him for me to do so. But even then... I so didn't want to follow his rules about dating but I did it anyway. Most likely because I didn't want dad going to jail for prison. and because I was Daddy's Girl and I couldn't have him thinking less of me.

On the other hand, I have peltny of Korean friends who lived with their parents who were very traditional, and not very caught up on the times. One of my best friend's mom didn't care about the times. Fishnet anything was never allowed in her house. And she had a large as shit frying pan she carted around everywhere she went in that tiny apartment.
