      Policy Regarding Fake Goods Going Forward for Alcon, LAC and LGC

      Fake goods and products are massive issues for both attendees (who get ripped off) and for dealers (who need their customers to feel safe and secure about buying from them). In the interests of ensuring that in future our attendees don't get stung by any fake goods sold either deliberately or accidentally (dealers can not always check every item they sell and sometimes may be unaware they're selling a fake), we are putting the following in to place -

      If an attendee has a reasonable doubt of legitimacy (ie feel not right, quality seems suspect, tags don't seem right) then unless the seller can prove the legitimacy (which would potentially require certification for that item, or an unbiased, knowledgeable third party/access to somewhere they can check against known real items, or by other reasonable methods that the dealer can prove it) they must give a refund or exchange to the equivalent value. If they refuse to do this then please get in touch with us via info@animeleague.com and we will persue the matter for you.

      If the matter is referred to us then we will seek to try and get a refund for you. If we have reasonable grounds to believe the exhibitor has indeed sold a fake good and is refusing a refund, even after we speak with them, then the likelyhood then becomes that they won't be welcome back at our events.

      This process is designed to give dealers maximum benefit of the doubt, while ensuring attendees are fully protected and will not lose out.
      If you can keep your head when all about you

      Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
      If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
      But make allowance for their doubting too;
      If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
      Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
      Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
      And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

      If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
      Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
      If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
      If all men count with you, but none too much;
      If you can fill the unforgiving minute
      With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
      Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
      And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

      Cause it's got a holagram doesn't always mean it's legit. The chinese are getting smarter with producing fakes.

      It would be most helpful if there was some sort of guide or comparison images so that we know what to look out for.

      That is something we can't provide. If people can find such things, they are welcome to bring them and share them, but as official items such things don't exist for us to get, as companies generally don't care enough about merch, (asides from DVDs/Published items) to produce such things.

      Most merchandise you'll find in the UK isn't legitimate I'm afraid. I don't think it's so bad when it comes to wall scrolls or wallets or bags but when it comes to statues it's pretty bad.

      Basically if anything seems like a great deal, it's probably fake. Smartphones are a great way of quickly looking up ways of spotting a fake statue, knowing what you're buying is key really.

      But also, some people don't mind buying fakes due to the low prices. But hey.
