      It shouldnt be too hard right?

      Mics for contestants

      Stage moniters - 2 should do.

      More clan events? Clan sign ups and badge/stickers?

      ok i agree more clan events cause seriously :p we had like 3-4 rounds which didnt seem enoughhhh, this way also gives us chance to pick other team members for other events (only the clan treasure hunt could use lots of people). = i felt bad though cause if u win 2 rounds out of what was i swear 3... u pretty much win the battle which yeah isnt enoughhh, i want close battlesss!!!

      more events where audience can join in since some seemed bored from what i heard =yep treasure hunt idea for audience sounds good

      sameeee clans pleasee!!! *yesss i wanna apply for org 13 again* , but instead of red ribon army which died, replace with another = im sure they will end up more members then red ribon even if few more.

      lets make these clans perm for lac like alcon has perm pirates/ninjas/vampires.

      p.s i do like the team badge/stickers plan or maybe few posters about to give clans more advertisement ? so people will join on the day not onlyyy forums
      (if no space for big posters then im sure a4 works )

      I am pleased to say I will be working on plans to bring you all more clans events

      I have a few ideas in my head which I need to put onto paper and present ideas to the crew then onto the attendees, but will wait until the London Anime 5 thread is up and running in the "Upcoming Events" section

      - Stuff like stickers/badges to make clans more 'visible' would be awesome. You could also stick some sort of clan scoreboard up somewhere and give event winners stars with points to stick on it when they win an event. Potentially you could have clan leaders appoint recruitment officers (most clan leaders are staff and assumedly have a ton of other stuff to do) who could recruit people to join a clan when they arrive to help include people more

      - For the people who don't feel included, a section in the conbook would be good I think. Like top 10 tips for surviving your first convention. Some events can massively boost your chance of making new friends (like the cosplay auction) and something to soften the blow of occasionally having to deal with the few attendees that don't respect social boundries.

      - If a cosplay cafe is out of the question because of the venue and people tend to not go for the Masquarade Ball, perhaps some other sort of social cosplay event. Something to let the cosplayers mess around in character for the hilarity of everyone.

      - Someone mentioned putting boardgames in the chillout area and that sounds super cool.

      - A proper Abridged or AMV Hell screening. Because it's funny, gosh darn it.

      - Some sort of digital screen/projection in a main area with an up to date schedual on it. Technically I know this would be kind of a nightmare and would tie up a member of staff, but it would be soooooo usefull for attendees when events start to fall behind. Better yet if it was done via the might of the internets and then those of us who own overpriced phones could check with even less effort.

      - At Alcon Moley did an awesome panel on stage skills. Something like that would be nice to have at LAC.

      i didnt see the point in clan things because as far as i knew the only time clans mattered was in the clan battle on stage. if you give points to clans for the winners of some of the other activities you already have going that would be an improvement. or have some sort of clan specific events during the day. this might also help people feel included if they are too shy, as they would be working as part of a group towards something and have a reason to interact with people from the same clan.

      The scoreboard idea is a good one. It'd certainly cut down on work, since we'd only need to give winners specially printed small stickers (not stars, too easily acquired), which they can then take to the board and add to the clan they want to win. Would cut our staff needing to even keep track.

      I'm thinking something in the garden area.

      We'll probably reduce the live-music a bit earlier on in the day and put AMV Hell/Abridged in the main bar. It also cuts down on work our end.

      This is trickier.

      Unfortunately we can only get panelists who can make it to LAC, but we'll see what we can do.
      If you can keep your head when all about you

      Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
      If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
      But make allowance for their doubting too;
      If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
      Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
      Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
      And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

      If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
      Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
      If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
      If all men count with you, but none too much;
      If you can fill the unforgiving minute
      With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -

      And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

      Re: Ideas & Event/Guest Suggestions for London Anime Con 5 on 30th June - 1st July

      First post!

      I think it might be a good idea to advertise these forums at the con. I know it has quite a few members already (understatement lol) but I was surprised to see the feedback thread for LAC4 is only 6 pages long at the time of posting. It makes me think that quite a sizable portion of con-goers are not part of the AL community.

      Perhaps the organisers can keep a computer aside, with internet access, for the sole purpose of signing con-goers up to the Anime League Forums, along with advertising for it. Maybe the league already does this, I don't know.

      Also, some of the events on the upstairs stage wasn't very "engaging" from the audience's perspective. Watching a few guys eating spicy stuffs and holding in their mouths for two minutes (without much reaction) was a bit tedious, for example. Scarve and myself spent more time chatting about that SR-25 airsoft gun he wants to buy rather than watching the stuff happening on stage. We need more events that are either more entertaining or involving of the audience, (like the blindfolded rolled-up magazine fight or the cosplayers auction).

      Overall, though, LAC4 was brilliant for me.

      I'll definitely be back.

      Re: Ideas & Event/Guest Suggestions for London Anime Con 5 on 30th June - 1st July

      I'm not sure about pushing the forum heavily at the convention. I think part of the reason that people feel left out is because there is this sense of a closed group of people that already all know each other, so making the forum seem like part of the requirements for 'taking part' might increase that divide. That's just my gut feeling though, got nothing to back it up. That and I don't really use the forums for the social jaunt ^_^;;

      One tiny note. Fix the typo on the cosplay auction forms so it doesn't say "Cospaly" any more XD.

      I was also thinking today that some sort of event to get people to discuss there favourite anime/manga would be nice. Some sort of 'one anime to rule them all' showdown with a tornement bracket where people try to win the audiance over telling them what is so great about their anime.

      Megabyte was cool, but it would be better on Saturday than Sunday, so people aren't as tired. Also, nothing particular was going onstage after a certain time, could have chillout screenings up there, I seem to remember watching anime upstairs for LAC2, which was nice. Also, one day, I hope to be able to properly hear the Rock Band/ Guitar Hero songs I'm.playing over stage stuff. Also, whoever hosts the quizzes should actually be funny and not take so fucking long to grt through questions and answers, because, it was mostly obnoxious and irritating.

      I'd like to have clan awards, best clan leader and people who were good at certain tasks, and maybe an award for crew members too, seeing as they put so much work into the events.
