'Pro VS Anti' a V-Day Event

Oh, I got all panicky it's the 22nd today which is deadline day and I just got to work on this. I hope you all enjoy it. Might have a look back at some of the others now.

Buy those roses, show her I love her
this one day I must care more.
Two meals for a decent price
in that restaurant she likes
Giant cards and great balloons
cheapening the 'love' in 'I love you'
a word I always thought priceless
Should I say instead
“I spent money on you”?
valentines day specials everywhere I look
commercialise those things we feel
they are just products; all for sale
roses are red violets are blue
flowers sales are through the roof
and todays prices; they are too

Do you remember when we started out
we ran so fast through trees to the stream
we laughed so hard; it hurt so much
and that made us laugh some more.
we held hands as we lay together
catching breath beneath the sun
the sky reflecting in the water
Like us, the two were one
and as I turned my head to look at you
and you turned to look at me
that smile, those eyes and your pale soft skin
in that moment we were so free

Hear me my dear these words are true
I love you more than I ever did before
In you I have been lost and found.
Where the ground forever shifts beneath us
And waves make surf and storms

But in the eye our bonds fast formed
flowers and cards and fancy meals mean nothing but pennies lost

Pro VS Anti is now LOCKED. If you wanted to participated in this, you had plenty of time to participate and post something. Now.....


I plan on PMing EVERY participant. If you want to get ahead and PM me instead of me PMing you, this is what I'd like.

Send me your personal ranking of your piece. The purpose of the privacy is to give voters a chance to earn while you earn. What do I mean by this? I mean that there will be awards but voters who say what they feel is the "true" rating of the poem will determine whether or not the piece follows Anti, Pro, or Neutral. If the piece is voted as a majority ruling of the same ranking the author felt their piece was, all voters who matched will get 1000 credits. Those who vote on every piece will get 500 Credits, but a critique/reasoning must be given. After this, Voters can decide who their favorite piece is for each category. A special award will be given to the Top of each Category.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas about this, have until tomorrow to give their view points. Else wise, this will be the role of this event from tomorrow on into the end.

You weren't very clear on the "guidelines" for the personal rankings.

Personal rankings had no bearing on the piece. A personal ranking is how you feel about - either V-Day or your poem- hence personal. If you are referring to the ending part, the pms (which all save for one person will get in a moment, personal ranking of your piece is how you feel it stands in the rankings of vday, 1 being Anti, 5 Being 100% neutral, and 10 being Pro.

If you were referring to submissions, that was just how you felt about the "holiday" and that there was no expectation or requirement that your piece matched it.

Do it in notepad and just periodically save. Is what I do for all my written things for on here. I detest the chat box because of how many times it has failed me.

I just write everything in word and save consistently before posting anything here. D:
