In California, when you've completed a certain number of units (i.e. the number of units required to graduate) you are no longer eligible for federal financial aid.
Yup. If you are in a community college you have two years or up to 72 units before they cut you off. Worse, like in my situation. If you Withdraw out of classes and leave, scarring your transcript with W's that prevent you from having 75% of your classes completed with C's or better even if you weren't being provided financial aid during the period or prior, they can still reject your financial aid acceptance. In fact, they have a lot of poor rules and strict regulations that are burdening and harmful to struggling students. Even with my appeal letter, I still got rejected. This semester I'm in the same boat as Mouse. but without the financial aid. So if I could help I so would. Mouse. do you have BOGW?

That sounds sad, but typical of the American government, no offence; it's just that on the numerous times I've been to America and the multitude of states I've been to, their government seems to just abandon their homeless to their cold, grim demise and the health care isn't the best especially seeing as you have to pay for it, which can make life or death situations more just death situations for the people on the lower end of the social spectrum. Sad really. So that's why I can believe that they'd do something like that, rather than letting their new students rise up to help their country more, they shoot them down and make it harder for them to become part of the hard working and higher earning society. : I hate hierarchy.

I went to college in the US and China. There is no such thing as 'financial aid' only financial nightmares.
Hey Mouse. do it asap. If you can get BOGW they will likely reimburse you for this semester. Idk about last semester though. I can't believe you didn't know about BOGW. ><; They tell you about it in the community colleges. It's the only thing helping me to attend classes. If it weren't for my quick seasonal job with UPS I wouldn't have been able to get half the books I needed. And I still need books for one of my classes. Not to mention no money to help my dad with the gas I use to get to school. Helps I live in the middle of no where. <<;
