Started playing this a few weeks ago, its ace! Some times frustrating when getting raped but a good game.

Wiki - "Players are formed into 2 even teams with 1–5 Champion(s) on each team. Each team starts at opposing sides of a map in an area called the "fountain", near what is called a "Nexus". A match is won when either the opposing team's Nexus is destroyed or the other team surrenders. To destroy a Nexus, each team must work through a series of towers called "Turrets". Turrets are often placed along a path to each base referred to as a "Lane". Along the way, each player gains levels from killing the opposing team's champions and "Minions" (small NPCs that constantly spawn and attack the other team) and defeating neutral monsters (some of which grant buffs known as crests upon death). Killing enemies allows champions to purchase "Items" with in-match gold to improve their statistics. In League of Legends, each player starts at level 1 at the beginning of the match and can obtain the maximum of level 18 with their champion, leveling 4 different champion-specific abilities."

For a free game it very well made, balanced, has a good server and is constantly updated, you can Pay for "RP" points in game to purchase champions but i havnt at all and iv still got a good selection of champions which i have bought with IR (Currency recieved when finishing games).
The game can be somewhat difficult to get used to, but recently there have been some tutorials released which help alot with the basic concepts of the game and also they have implemented PvE games which means you can try different tactics and get used to the game without playing other people.
The thing about this game is teamwork and tactics, the only advantage other players have is if there team cooperates better than yours does.

As not everyone knows what LoL is, can you please add some more information about the game itself?

Personally I was looking into picking this up a month or two ago, but it didn't seem like the sort of game/community that welcomes players who don't know exactly what to do.
I fully expect to suck at it...a lot.

I actually do play League of Legends (LoL) a fair bit.

League of Legends, if you don't know, is a Defense of the Ancients style game. What that means is that you and your team pick heroes/champions (3v3 and 5v5 games) and attempt to destroy your opponent's base. The map is divided into "Lanes" which are guarded by towers. Periodically, your base spawns NPC controlled Minions (or Creeps) that plod along and attack anything in the lane they are in. At base entrances there are "Barracks" or "Inhibitors" that, when destroyed cause you to gain more powerful creeps to help you push down the enemy base. Thats the basic "flow" of the game.

Champions have 3 regular skills, and an Ultimate. You get 1 point to spend on skills when you level up (Level 6 is when you get your "ult"). You gain experience when you kill a Creep or an enemy champion, as well as gold. Gold is obviously spent on items.

I play on Japan time, GMT +9, and my username is Grueser. I typically prefer to play champions like Garen and Lux, though lately I've been using Warwick so that I can get some practice jungleing.

Also, its worth noting that League of Legends has a very odd community. It is free, so a lot of /b/tards play it, and go out of their way to be asshats. Just be patient and IGNORE what people say until you get the hang of the game. Also, your first few games should be in the CoOp vs AI mode, that should help you get the flow of the game down better without "RAWWWR N00B u fed Ashe"

Axiom is right, ill admit there are plenty of people who have egos the size of russia on Lol, but generaly its best to ignore them and do your own thing and AI mode is good for the first few days.

Have to agree to a lot of the people who play it are annoying
But me and my friends have been playing this for like the past 3 months and its great fun.
Also watching some of the pro's play can be fun as well

I literally spend all day on LoL unless my girl says she is having a bad and needs my full attention. Its a great game if you like RTS (or DoTa) style games as the player base while they range from great to crappy adds a level of variety you won't see in games. Add to that the various play styles of the champions and different builds and it has massive variety from game to game. Lvl doesn't really matter much til you hit lvl 20 and can buy yourself runes, which is always nice consider I hate lvl grinding games.

I main Lux, Brand, Ezreal, Vayne, and Udyr (when I have to tank....I hate melee) in generally that order.

as to Morde being broken, not really. I've solo'd him with both Brand and Lux a lot lately

Mordkaiser is a terrible champion. He brings no CC to the table, and doesn't do enough in team fights to make him scary. He just has lots of HP and a shield. The way my friends and I play, we just kind of ignore him and kill his carry. Oh. for new players an important tidbit: Focus the carry, NOT the tank.

i just think the fact that when he uses his abilities he gets a shield. he can tower dive so early on. but hes not invincible.
Also don't like Vlad's Sanguine pool >_> but thats just me bitching when it gets it more screws me over.

Me i usually play Twitch (everyone hates him ), Jax, and Udyr.
I find Udyr absolutly badass in 3v3, not so good at 5v5 but geez 3v3 i seem to get 8 - 2- 3 ish all the time.
