Re: What's your theory on why we dream?

I agree with Anni's theory but I also think that we dream because of what we experience during when were awake. Like whenever I see a horror movie or a fantasy movie and after that go to sleep I end up always dreaming about the thing that I watched. An example of this when I watched spirited away again a few days ago and when I went to sleep I woke up in a dream world and for some reason I woke up in a colourful abandon mystical church in the middle of a forest. I had this dream 3 times too so I was intrigued by that and I tried drawing what I dreamt but gave up since Im no good at drawing.

I had few and i solved with my shrink, they are really interesting, it is like your subconscious continuously asking your attention about something.
Did some of you have frequent dreams?
Yes. I have this dream that crops up every few months since I first dreamed it at 7 years old. It was scary at first, but now it's just weird... it also makes no sense, and I'd love it if someone could try to analyse it...

      Two things here confused me,

      1) You watched a surrealist children's fantasy cartoon, had a dream about being in a surrealist fantasy, and are confused by how they're connected? Or am I just reading that wrong?
      2) You seem confused that you went to sleep and found yourself "in a dream world." Isn't that just the normal mode of being in a dream?

Dreams are the brain's version of Windows Disk Defragmenter. For the same reason you shouldn't be installing or deleting programs while running the defragmenter, is the same reason why we dream in our sleep.

Re: What's your theory on why we dream?

Honestly I think most dreams are just random. don't mean anything memories of our life sort of thing.
Unless the dreams are repetitive. Like several times of the same dream over and over. even then different religions and groups have their different meanings for the same thing.
As for dream interpreting. Let me grab the voodoo book. I'm sure it'll have some interesting interpretations.
