VampKitty is right, the face is like him, but perhaps rather than hard lines for the face line things I mentioned, you could try and do it via shading ^_

And yeah...the hair went a little wrong ^_^

I need to practice more with shading, and have got some cool pencils for it. So I may give it another go and post the results. The hair however is a total fail.

Total lack of motivation and some weird depressive episodes have meant my art has been neglected but hopefully I'll be back in action now.

Here's a piece I did recently. 1920s gal Cynthia Nix, dead and haunting the living in the present day. She's a possibly character in my manga story 'Lost Souls' (if I ever get round to doing it properly)

A very good design here, I particularly like the effect you used for the lips, they look very realistic. The eyes are very expressive, just a small anatomic flaw, but no big deal, nothing that practice can´t fix. Sadly the hair style is too simple for this design, would be nice too see more highlight effects here and there, perhaps to add more movement to the hair as well.

Now, the beads of the collar, even if they look pretty good, could do better if you manage to make them look more uniform. Beads are particularly tricky to draw. I found this reference that can be a bit useful, you can see the detail of the collar

Apart from those details the drawing looks really good, I think the dress looks really nice. Is a great drawing indeed

I love the style and the way you have drawn the face. I also like the fact that you didnt block out the underneath of her hair on the left side as it lets the person looking at it still see the shape of the hair and how it falls. The 'shine' on the hair could do with a little work. I think that it is too blocky and doesnt really let you see the texture of the hair and it doesnt reflect that the hair is wavy. For effect I think you should have coloured in the shine but seeing as it is a hand-drawn sketch, ctrl+z doesnt exactly work if it doesnt like right XD I would love to shade this in for you with my colouring skillz.

@Capousky , thanks for the critique. The eyes came out a little bigger then I meant to, and I got too lazy to fix them when I got to the inking stage. As for the hair, it's one of my weakest areas. That and hands, I figured rather then going for realistic looking hair I'd try for something a bit more simplistic but I do see what you mean. And thanks for the pearl reference, I'll try out a practice on getting them more uniform.

@Heartless , Thanks. Glad you like it. Looking back at the hair I realise the shine is a bit too simple. It's something I could really practice on some more. It'd be pretty cool if they had ctrl-z for hand-drawn work but alas, I'm no good with digital drawing.

But oh my god, that would be amazing. I'd love it if you could shade this with your mad, epic colouring skillz.

i like, like lots, you have lots of potential, but i must insist that the first of the chibi drawings does not look all that chibi >>

but its still cute, they look more like kids than anything ^^

Hi Cookie!

A couple of little crits on the more realistic recent piece, both of their arms are a bit too long, with the fingers fully outstretched the fingers should end just below the crotch, also the girls shoulders are a bit wide, generally female characters shoulders will be at most as wide as their hips (sometimes even narrower)

The chibis are really cute, but like someone else already said, they look kinda more like children than chibis (I think that may be because of the size of the head in comparison to the body, chibis heads are generally "big" for the body, these are more in proportion)

But still you're really talented ^^_

The advice was helpful and will definitely be things I'll try to work on some more. Just felt like trying a simple style and they were fun to draw.

Coockie i'm glad you update it, cause i like it a lot and i would be glad to tell you why i choose the other!

your was more appealing at first look, because of the best colours pallette and because her face really stand out, i like the way you colour both lips, eyes and shades in general on her body, plus i really loved that thin withe line in the wrifgth place to bring more light in it.

the things that you should improve are shades on the folders or her clothes, pixelate areas, like the one around her left arms, and that lights dots. they can be amazing but you should place it better and lower the opacity or the layer settings to screen so that they looks more lighter.

in any case great work, i loved it
