So here is my portfolio of work, its nothing spectacular and most of the quality is shoddy at best but any advice will be great.

UPDATE: My files got deleted so I have to reupload them. It may be a mix of old and new stuff. Let's see.

Some writing, its kinda rough but its one idea I've been sort of working on:

Lost Souls

Story outline
Set in a fictional London, this story involves the fickle creatures known as the fae. Begins with a flashback to Yukari’s mysterious death ten years ago- a week before Halloween. In present, Rei and Lily are going to Yukari’s grave to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of her death and what would have been her 40th birthday.
A week later on Halloween, Lily goes missing at school. The police can’t help with the case, too many people go missing every day- she has become one of many: a ghost, a lost soul.
On that same night, Rei encounters two strange individuals who later help him on his quest.

Characters:

The Le Andrea Family:
Yukari Le Andrea: mother, mysteriously died ten years ago a week before Halloween on the date of her birth. (Not really Japanese but of fae blood, ran away from the land of the faeries and escapes to earth with most trusted guard Yagari. The two posed as siblings.)
Father: not much known about him, assumed dead.
(Gustav Le Andrea: a hunter, partnered with Moesha. Presumed missing, however gone into hiding with third child in mutual agreement with Yukari.)

Third child: rumoured Rei had twin that did not survive birth.
(Cassandra Le Andrea: Rei’s twin sister, thought to be dead. In hiding with Gustav. Born with rare type of albinism, cannot stand the slightest touch of the sun. Gifted.)

Rei Le Andrea: oldest child, embarks on quest to find his missing sister. Can see ghosts since birth.
19-20 at start, at 9 mother passed away. Cannot stand Halloween and has avoided it. Also to do with sensitivity to ghosts, which increases ten-fold on that mythical night. Determined to find Lily, discovers many things on quest.

Lily Le Andrea: youngest child, on Halloween she suddenly disappears. Can also see ghosts.

The Takahashi Family:
Yagari Takahashi: father, brother to Yukari. Fashion designer, has natural sense of aesthetics. Was Yukari's bodyguard back in the fae realm – helped orchestrate her escape into the human world.
Moesha Takahashi: mother, genius magician. Before meeting Yagari, she worked with Gustav as a hunter of the supernatural.
Dwayne Takahashi: oldest child, twin to Dania.
Dania Takahashi: middle child, twin to Dwayne (Dwayne oldest by 5mins)
Jo Takahashi: youngest child

Others:
Azuma: a witch, her face is always covered, so Rei doesn't know what she really looks like, though it has been assumed she is quite ugly. Helps Rei on his quest.
Pierre Ducant: vampire. Vegetarian. Born a vampire, helps Rei on quest.

i really like your simple style, you are really good drawing proportioned bodies, and what seems beautiful faces, in fact i think you are really good, but the image size is too small to tell you more...........
why don't you upload larger canvas? i would be pleased to see your art.
As for the story is really intriguing, i like the plot a lot. The character descriptions are good too and I'm sure you would add more detail as far as the story goes on. Cannot wait to read the script!

Pic 1 - The guys arms I think are slightly too short and his hands are too small, and the girl in the back is standing on her own foot

Pic 2 - Only thing I can notice is that the middle girls eyes are different sizes

Hello Whip!!!! Welcome to Manga Forge!!! I am glad to see your portfolio at last ^^

Now, let me tell you that you have a nice style for drawing, great use of colors in that first one. You need to work more with the anatomy of your characters, you are not doing bad, but you can improve in some details like the hands and arms. But it is just a matter of practice and to use some good references.

I really like your story as well, sounds like an interesting world, nice characters and an appealing story. Can´t wait to see it more developed.

nice! that's very good! i especially like the second one even though it doesnt have any colour, personally, i think leaving colours out leaves a sense of mystery, but thats just me, Keep up the good work^^

Thanks guys for all the comments. Yeah anatomy is something I really need to work on, getting things into proportion is pretty difficult for me. But I;m sure its nothing a little practice will be able to sort out.

I seriously love the one of the lolita girl! I really love her hair, you did an excellent job on it. I also find myself drawn to the eyes, I really like how you outlined them darker than the rest of her. Great job!

Thanks VK. I actually used a reference pic for the lolita girl, it was hard drawing the outfit and her hair for sure. :p

And a slightly more realistic style, this is incomplete.

I like the story Whip, it's very Oz-like. I've got one suggestion and one question.
Suggestion: You specify starts with flashback, call it a prologue and chapter 1 starts with Ten Years Later...
The question: If it's set in London, why do the characters have Japanese first names and a French surname?

Hey, seriously, you improved a lot lately.
the Lolita one is amazing, half way to realistic and manga, i simply love the style, it is also perfectly proportioned, really charming.
The Naruto Group is good as well and i like the colouring, only thing you have to pay attention to the connection between neck and head in Sakura and cannot remember the other guy name case it looks a bit odd, just a minor flaw as faces expressions and body are perfect.
Also love the last one, i admit i don't have a clue about who he is, but you did it great!

Wow!!! I love the Lolita styled too. And that realistic one is amazing!!!! I wish I could draw real faces with that level of detail, but I am too hasty to apply so much details in my drawings

Realistic one is good....but you've made him look really old by defining the lines by his mouth so much, and is his hair supposed to be so "wild" and crazy old guy looking?

(If he is an old guy with crazy hair...then I apologise ^_)

Thanks for the suggestion exploding, its still a major work in progress so things keep changing.
And its set in London, since I know the city. And London is pretty multi-cultural so it isn't unusual to see people with names from all over the world. ^^

Thanks Cappy. Realistic drawings are hard to do, and my biggest problem is that I rarely finish as I'm very lazy: but hopefully this one can get done. ^^

I really love your Gerard Way! The hair wasn't so great but, the face was very nicely done. It actually looks like him!
