Story

Upon the fateful day of his execution the world renowned Pirate King Gold Roger announced to the world this final declaration in his last moments. “My Fortune is yours for the taking, but you’ll have to find it first. Everything I own is in One Piece”. These words fed hope into the hearts of would be pirates all over the world and was the spark that triggered the time known as the golden age of pirates. This event caused crews from all over the world to search for One Piece in a bid to obtain the title of ‘Pirate King’ in the new world.

It was eventually found by Monkey D. Luffy Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates who in turn became the New Pirate King. This was many years ago and it has now come to a time when a new king must be found. The location of One Piece still remains a secret to this day and so another great search has begun to claim it. This has given rise to new and promising young pirate crews, each with the potential required to push them to the top and become the next King.

Opposing the Pirates is the World Government which has been rebuilt since its destruction at the hands of the Straw Hats. Heading the New Government is a collaboration of three Admirals intending to stop the pirates at any cost in order to ensure what they call 'Absolute Justice' using the Marines. Secretly there is also a group within the Marines who call themselves CP9. They are the elite unit of the World Government and serves to enforce their most severe punishments.

Setting

The fictional world of One Piece is covered by two vast oceans, which are divided by a massive mountain range called Red Line. The Grand Line, a sea that runs perpendicular to the Red Line, further divides them into four seas: North Blue, East Blue, West Blue and South Blue. Surrounding the Grand line are two regions called calm belts, which experience almost no wind and ocean currents and are breeding ground for the huge sea creatures called sea kings, because of which the calm belts are very effective barriers for those trying to enter the Grand Line. While the navy ships, using sea stone to mask their presence, can simply pass through, most have to use the canal system of Reverse Mountain, a mountain at the first intersection of the Grand Line and the Red Line. Sea water from each of the four seas runs up that mountain and merges at the top to flow down a fifth canal and into the first half of the Grand Line. The second half of the Grand Line, beyond the second intersection with the Red Line, is also known as the New World. It is there that the treasure of One Piece resides.

Powers

Devil Fruit are a type of fruit which when eaten bestow a certain power on the eater. There are three types of Devil Fruit. Zoan fruits allow the user to fully and partially transform into a specific animal. Logia fruits give control over and allow the user to change their living body structure into the powers of nature. Paramythia is a type that gives the user superhuman abilities. Those who have eaten these Devil Fruits cannot swim and when even partially submerged in water, they lose all of their strength and powers. Additionally Rokushiki or the "Six Powers" are special, superhuman skills that are the base of a hand-to-hand combat technique. These techniques are used widely among the Marines, and in the right hands can be used effectively against Fruit users. Unfortunately due to corruption in the ranks these powerful techniques have managed to leak out into the public domain, allowing others outside of the established order to aquire them. IC: Making his way out of the dense forest Alex finally arrived at the village. From the looks of things it was a typical busy town, with a street market and numerous stone buildings laying out the streets and back alleys. It was noon and the town was bussling, with vendors shouting offers out to potential customers. The atmosphere was ver homely and comforting and reminded Alex of his own village. "Better keep moving" he said to himself as he made his way onto the street.

As he walked casually down the busy streets he felt an unease of sorts and looked over to see the familiar Marine crest upon a close by building. Becomming more conscious of the seastone cuff worn around his wrist Alex made no attempt to draw attention to himself, hoping that he would just be ignored. After all thus far he had no bounty and had only just arrived in the grand line. "I suppose if i'm going to be stuck with this thing on i'm going to need some sort of weapon" he muttered to himself, his gaze darting about the place looking for a weapon store.
