Fair dos. Hopefully youll get a useful reply back
Welcome to Cosplay Central ^^
Its good to hear you enjoyed Insomnia 50 and the cosplay there. I couldnt make it myself cause of travel sadly=/
Your Crystal Maiden looks amazing. Its hard...
Ah right, sorry
For keeping it simplistic to get the point across, Id go with something like;
Can you tell me all the measurements for 'insert size here' on this cosplay,...
Bought Crysis 3 earlier, and after playing it, I kinda wanna cosplay Prophet...
If its anything like eBay, the sellers contact details should be accessible through their profile
I convieniently seem to fit most L/XL pre made stuff (tends to be the same measurement, just labelled differently o.O) so I havent got a huge amount of experience with sorting out custom sizes
If one of the premade sizes would fit, theres no point paying the extra to get a custom one in the same size
What did you actually email the seller to begin with?
Im just trying to...
They must do custom sizes just based on that
Might be worth sending them an email along the lines of;
Can you give me a price in £ for a custom size of - link to item - in these...
Ah, thats a bit... awkward
Not having the full measurements is a bit odd, and without them its kinda hard to judge
By the sounds of it, those are just heights, presumably for someone of average build. Best bet is to email the seller with your measurements like height, chest, waist, shoulders and such, and ask...
Thats gonna be awesome to see. Plus itll be easy to spot you at cons in that
Just make sure you take regular breaks wearing it
Ive done worse before :P
You know Drifters an idiot when it takes him a worringly long time to realise Katy Perry isnt an anime character...
Its a nice feeling, even if it isnt much. Im hoping that by the end of the week I can get all the basic parts cut, then get the detachable hilt built over the weekend
Just your average day of work for me...
Alternately - Holy fuck, why am I doing this?
Why would I put my legs in the sleeves? :P
I remembered one I posted in the CC lounge a while back...
Buying extruded styrofoam genuinely excites me >.>
I guess its the knowledge that when I get it, I can start making props with it
Ultimately, which cosplay you choose should be down to your personal preferences ^^
If it helps you make a decision, the steps I usually go through to choose a character are to consider...
I wouldnt have the arms to pull off a short sleeved skirt anyway :awesome:
Isnt that pretty much everything at this point?
Step the Third - Transferring the templates to extruded sytrofoam
Using the templates I created in step 2, I was able to transfer the design to foam
To do this, I laid out the foam sheets in...
Cosplayer summon time :D
AssassinsCreedFan ThaiNiTeddy rangiku-haineko Kazeoni pendragon01 Snowcat DrDark7 dan-dan TPJerematic TheBurgerKing LucyOfTheStars Tuffin Nero Narukami TimmyDM ImmortalJed...
I do a similar thing with shaving my beard. I style it to Snow by default at this point :P
But yeah, Im obsessed with prop building to the point where if I see something like a weapon or shield in...
Ill check with my sister actually. She might know where to source seing as she does that stuff a lot
Same. Itll be a thing of pure epicness
Shameless self promotion for all you cosplayers!
Im fairly sure...
Everyone go check this out :D
So, the year of 2013 is near an end, and what a year it was
As the cold weather sets in, and the days grow darker, we here in Cosplay Central want to take a look back at everything that happened...
What are your favourite cosplay achievements of the past year?
Did you finish a costume or prop youre particularly proud of? Did you take part in an event? Win a masquerade? Meet your cosplay...
Hmm, maybe hunting our own clansman isnt the best idea actually...
I need to find one nearby. Ill ask my friends dad (hes a fireman, so he may know something like that for emergency services type stuff). I found a really nice on eBay for like £20, but the only sold...
I really wanna do it. Itd make a nice hot weather cosplay too seeing as its a short sleeved shirt
I still really want to cosplay Rick Grimes. I just cant find the damn shirt/hat at anything even close to a reasonable price =/
I kinda want to dig out the thing from Reddit about the physics of a particular bit of the fanservice now, if I can find it...
Ive worn my ACIII coat as a regular coat a fair few times, including in the middle of London. Got a few odd looks, but more 'oh hey, that guy has an assassins jacket, thats cool' than anything
We want you to share your favourite cosplay photos from the last year with us!
Were looking for a mix of photos to allow us to build up a picture of the last year. Shots from photoshoots,...
Ive just got the b&w ones. I so want the colour ones though D:
*wants to watch HotD now*
Actually I should probably read my unopened copies of the manga I bought over a year ago >.>
Yeah, at least you have a hat to hide it under, I dont :P
Or, I wear the floral bonnet the whole time
Lemme know if you find one for Jayne. I can have a look in the same place for Mal
I bought the remaining foam I need for Caius' sword this morning
For a visual representation, heres the amount of foam I used for the Nightingale Bow
Am I a meme?
Ill send him a message tomorrow. I think he bought it at the MCM, but hell probably remember what it was
The smile... its so perfect
That is true
Plus I suppose with an undead clan that eats people, dark is something to be expected
Acrylic wouldnt stay on skin as part of a costume. Even if its fully dried into your skin, it mostly rubs off without water or anything
If its fresh/semi recent blood (havent played the game, so I...
Well, this clan got dark fast
Quick update (Ill cover details properly in the next full thing)
The total amount of foam I need for this is three 1 inch thick sheets, and 10-11 1/3rd inch thick sheets. With what I already own,...
Step the Second - The templates
For creating the templates. I used the plain images I drew out in step 1 and arranged them on a blank document, like so
One of the advantages of having multiple creative hobbies. Transferable skills like drawing are indispensable for this stuff :P
So, today I printed the full size templates for Caius's sword. Im yet to cut the various parts out, but the total area for the print is spread across 36 sheets of A4 paper, which is like 24 square...
