Also, my car MOT is tomorrow, as is my dentist appointment, I'm due to go on a major road-trip round New Zealand in less than 3 weeks, and I'm trying to save to move out (again). I need 3x the salary...

Insurance sucks, my first car when I was 18 was £1000 insurance for a 1.4 diesel old peugeot 106. The next year I got a 306 and insurance went up to £1400 (but I did have a horrendous accident).
