This way you might find a good anime from something you would other wise not usually watch.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo!

Genres: Comedy, Romance, Drama, School Life.

Basic information: this anime is about Kanda Sorata and his daily life in the Sakurasou dorm where he lives with 2 other residents, One day he gets asked to pick up a girl called Mashiro Shiina who turns out to be an amazing artist and manga drawer.

When he gets back to the dorm he soon finds out that she cannot do anything for her self from picking clothes to wear or gets lost easily and he is given the duty to look after her and they become like master and his pet there on after.

Now the reason I'm recommending this anime to everyone this week is because this is probably one of the best harem anime's I've ever seen in my life it has a proper story and explains the characters backgrounds compared to most, it focuses on the world of normal people and those with extraordinary skills like being a professional artist or anime maker and how much of a gap is in-between the two types of people.

Please give me feed back if you found this information useful also if you have watched this anime before please feel free to comment your thoughts on the anime as a whole!

It's real. All of it. The shrines, the water wheel, the houses, the school, the clinic, the trash dump, the bridge...

ALL OF IT IS REAL!

After I watched Kai, I'm not sure if the guys who made the fan sub did it, but there were pictures shown of the place right after the credits of the last episode. I looked more into it, and oh goodness, it's all exactly the same! The cicadas are the same, creepy, loud, eerie things too. It's all. Fucking. Real.

They based the whole anime on this town. The towns actual name is Shirakawa-go. It's considered a historical place in Japan, and I'm sure it gets a lot of tourists and such. It's very popular there. It hasn't been changed or altered, not in real life or the anime. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirakawa-g%C5%8D

This fact just makes the anime even THAT more interesting, exciting, and terrifying. I wonder why they chose it? Perhaps for the history of it? I want to learn more now about the history of this little village to figure out how it became Hinamizawa in the anime. Heck, I want to see it in real life someday. I'll bet it's beautiful.

THIS ANIME IS BLOWING MY DAMN MIND!!!!!

I'm not really a big fan of Shonen anime. I used to love it when first introduced to it via Dragonball Z (which I still love) and Naruto (which I currently detest) but now its gotten extremely predictable, monotonous and outright boring at times. It's a part of anime I never expected to return to. And then "Shingeki no Kyojin - Attack on Titan" happened. Now this anime... this is by all outward appearances is a straight up Shonen. It has all the signs of being a typical example of the (for lack of a better term) sub genre. The characters being the most notable examples. You have the stoic girl, the overly loud determined main character who never shuts the fuck up, the weakling, the rival, etc etc and they are not really well developed (so far). But what makes this series different is that it isn't afraid to take risks. There is gore to the highest degree that you'd think you had just landed in Berserk, the world these character live in is a hellish existence, the enemy is genuinely terrifying and what's best is that it seems to have an anyone can die at any time policy.

An anyone can die policy is almost alien to Shonen. Yes a minor character can kick the bucket once in an ice age or three to shake things up a bit but NOT SO SOON OUT OF THE FLOOD GATES!!! And these aren't nameless extras we're talking about here. These were characters we followed over several episodes and who didn't give any of the usual warning signs that you've almost been trained to expect. Hell they were even explored as characters. What's clever is that the creators actually tried to throw us a red herring or two about who is gonna die. You think the typical extras who suddenly get a line or are really happy and giddy about doing their best are gonna bit it. But nope! Not here and not today! The people you have grown to know are on the top of the shitlist! It's a refreshing change of pace that's for sure.

Only 5 episodes into the shows run and I am hooked.

Anyone who wants to see a shake up to the typical shonen sub genre I highly recommend this. As long as you are not squimeesh. It's on cruncyroll so go check it out!
